That's to avoid makin' him too OP. But Arceus still is the God, because I mean no other pokemon can be as unpredictable as he is - and with the decent power that goes with it. Can be any type, and can adapt his moveset to his type. Stil pretty neat 'mon to use, methinks :3

Mega Evolutions usually lead to an increase of 100 in the base stat total, but with Arceus, I think it would be a fantastic exception to make it 120, since then he can have 150 in everything. With his current base stat total, he ties with Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo X/Y; with 20 more in each stat, his new total becomes 900. He would be so OP, you'd need almost an entire team to get rid of him. Add to that his unpredictability, and he would unrefutably be the ultimate Pokémon. (And just imagine his awesome appearance!)

It's June 2nd, which means new information on generation seven has been released! Since the majority of you voted in favour of including the new Pokémon in this SB, I shall be the conductor of the Gen VII Hype Train.



So, say hello to Solgaleo and Lunala! Solgaleo, also known as the Sunne Pokémon, is a Steel/Psychic lion with the Ability Full Metal Body, which prevents its stats from being lowered by an opposing Pokémon's moves or Abilities. (Clear Body comes to mind.) Lunala, also known as - you guessed it - the Moone Pokémon, is a Psychic/Ghost bat. With the Ability Shadow Shield, it receives less damage when at full health. (Just like Multiscale.) Both Pokémon's signature moves, Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam, respectively, can affect opposing Pokémon regardless of their Ability. Sorry Shedinja, but your Wonder Guard will no longer protect you.



As for the Alola Region itself, it consists of four islands, as well as a fifth artificial island (the new syndicate's base of operation, perhaps?). Apparently, the player will receive not just a Pokédex, but also an AI of sorts - more specifically, a Rotom that has possessed the Pokédex and will be able to communicate with the player, even giving advice. That's interesting, because just yesterday, I watched a video on YouTube where a person said they'd like to see an iPhone7 forme for Rotom. XD

(but still, anyone who's ever seen a map of Hawaii can tell that they transplanted a lot of the islands into the game here. From left to right, save for the artificial island, I see the tiny Ni'ihau, and then Kauai, Oahu (which holds the capital, Honolulu, and some weird volcano crater thing I've seen on Google Earth maps but never figured out the name of it), Maui, that tiny island off of Maui whose name I forgot, and Hawaii (the Big Island).

I'm also a tad surprised that Solgaleo isn't a Fire and Steel type, but wow, are those mascots awesome. o-o Not to mention that they both have a move that counters Wonder Guard - that is epic. XD)


EDIT: Huh, I just found out that the volcano/crater thing on Oahu is called Diamondhead Crater. Alright, then.

Well, aside the fact that we've only seen 5 pokemons out of what, 100+ ? I'm sure we'll all get our favorites when we get to see all of the new designs.

@AstralHunter Count me out of the Hype Train for this Gen. It's not for Sun & Moon I'm saving my money for. Or at least not for now.

Even if you don't get to play the games, you do get to roleplay with them in the storybook. That's mostly what I'm trying to nurture: an excitement to participate in the SB.

I'll hold off on creating a new challenge until at least half of you have submitted your next post, otherwise it might expire before anybody can complete it, like with the one that expired a few days ago.

PS: @TheSilverFox, I absolutely agree that Solgaleo's typing is odd. I suppose they wanted to avoid another Fire/Psychic, but to be honest, Steel/Psychic has been done more often - just look at Metagross, Bronzong, and Jirachi.

PS 2: Since we don't know much about these two yet, you can expect Helios and Selene to take their merry time to appear. Ho-Oh and Cresselia, however, suddenly need new codenames.

PS 3: Three post scripts. Hmm. Anyway, which Legendaries can speak, @Tortwag? The only ones I definitely know can speak are Mewtwo, Lugia, and Entei. (I have only watched the first three movies in totality, yes.)

@AstralHunter I'm a gamer at heart, Astral. I won't be satisfied the same way - which is why Showdown provides much entertainment :3
But hey, don't worry. Even though I'm late for this, I'm definitely excited.
As for your question Astral, technically speaking, they can all communicate via telepathy. Because well they're all divinities. It's just that not all of them have shown to want to speak to humans, or the anime decided after the movies to make some more animalistic - such as Mewtwo not being as GODLY as he was in the movie when he appeared in Origins, or in X/Y Episode of Mewtwo, and Articuno being less less godly as well when he fought Charizard. Ah, And Deoxys uses Meowth as a telepathically-controlled translator when "speaking", because his mind speech is extraterrestrial and cannot be understood, according to anime rules. Not to mention Latios being reduced to a FREAKIN' slave to Plot Breaker Tobias, despite showing to be a sentient, much less animalistic being in the (non-canon, mind you) movies.

In short, inconsistancies. Do what you want with the matter, but I advise to simply make them all able to speak with their mind unless they're enraged.
