From Poem to Lyrics

Okay! I like to sing, you all may or may not know that, but I do!! Now, I'm not some hidden talent with the best voice you've ever heard (not close), but I do think I can sing well enough to take up this challenge. Plus, I just like any excuse to sing more, and use this part of my creative life.

SOOOO... without further ado, I challenge anyone to post a link to a poem (serious, funny, romatic, ballad, whatever type of poem) and I'll do my best to come up with a melody that I feel represents the poem.

If you want a specific melody, give me a song example and I could try to sing to the tune of that song. please no 'let it go' or extremely overused songs, dear goodness <- Seriously though. xD

Also, maybe if you cover songs, and you are a hidden talent, you should give it a shot, and post your melodies on the thread.

When the song is done post and tag the person the melody/song has been created for. xD

It's a bit on the longish side so if you divide it up or anything, I'm good with it! ^.^

@Pompadour I did it. *wipes sweat off her brow* Yours was really difficult for me to do (melody wise)! I think I managed pretty well, I didn't break it up, and this isn't a conventional 'song'. I hope you like it. I think I mixed up or missed a few words here and there, but nothing major, and after recording it a few times, this one was the best recording!

I don't have any that would sound good as lyrics though...

When I was younger, I would try to sing instead of reading (except that I would do it with any text), but I get where you're going. This is fun! I should think of a poem to publish for you.
