Fun Fact: Roald Dahl hated the original film adaptation so badly that he disowned it. That's why there's never been a film of Charlie & The Great Glass Elevator. Unfortunately, I doubt he would've liked the Burton-Depp incarnation, either.

I mean the original obviously because you don't get much better than this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2pt2-F2j2g

Anyone who says the newest one is better needs to see a psychiatrist.

And why would someone who hasn't seen either even vote? Let alone come to this thread at all!

Uhh, I chose the newer version. That does not, in any way, mean that I have to go see a psychiatrist. Having a differing opinion than someone else is perfectly fine.

No it isn't! This is objective!!!!!!! :P

Although the newer one IS truer to the book...

I can't help but feel that I spelled truer wrong. We all have those moments where it seems that something should be spelled a certain way but it just does not look right.

I haven't seen both so i won't vote, but Johnny Depp is outstanding, and the whole factory blew me away the first time I saw it. And I've heard is was closer to the original story then first movie.

I thought you said you haven't seen them, Messenger? And I can't believe the new one is winning, even if JD is awesome...

Also, the new Alice and Wonderland is creepy...
