Hi again! Another option for the first sentence mentioned is replacing the comma with semicolons. If you're making it a compound sentence, insert a comma before the conjunction :). Great ...

Ha. Yes, Suzanne Collins does use that technique a lot! To be honest, it used to irk me, but I've kind of grown used to it.
