My name is Mandy. I have a child, Daniel. He is five years old. I'm German, Irish, and Norwegian. I graduate high school May 21st. After graduation, my plans are going to college to be a Veterinary Assistant. I've been interested in photography since I was seven. I started writing when I was fifteen. I've recently finished my book I've been writing since 2007. I'm going through the editing stage, then it will be published hopefully by Fall 2010.

Hey there Mandy!
I'm JustDance, but call me JD.
We have some rules here at YWS, that I would like to share with you:

• Before posting any work of yours to be reviewed by the members of YWS we would like you to do please review at least 3 pieces of work for every work you submit. Something we like to call the 3:1 ratio. Basically before posting your own work to be reviewed you have to review 3 other pieces of works. Things such as what you liked, what the author could have done better, any confusions, nit picks, etc. Very easy and quick!

• YWS is a writing site, so we want our members to use proper grammar, spelling, punctuations, and caps. SEE HOW IT SEEMS AS IF I AM ANGRY AT YOU IF I WRITE IN ALL CAPS??!?!?!?! Try not to use caps unless necessary. Also we have a very nice chat room for all the members to use. Despite it being a chat room however we prefer members to not use chat speak. Chat speak: Cht spk is lyke tis no 1 lykes it n it iz very annoying!

• Rate your work just like movies. If it has any mature scenes, excessive violence or language then it'll need to be rated. Members of YWS are of different age groups and persona so they might not like something.

So you're all those different ethnics? Wow, that's amazing! Different cultures are so fascinating, it must be quite interesting.
I myself enjoy photography, it's the perfect way to capture a special moment forever. :)
So you're on the editing stage, eh? Probably one of the most important stages in a author's life! We have many reviewers on here, that would love to help you out. That's what YWS is for! To share and get help on your writing.

PM me for any questions or a good chat.
See you around!
-JD

Hi Mandy! Welcome to YWS I think you did a wonderful job of introducing yourself. I see that you like photography. If you have any photos you'd like to post you can put them in the Art & Photography forum for reviews. Also if you have anything written that has the making to be a book instead of breaking it into individual chapters you can put it in the Advanced Critiques forum. There are other things to do on the site besides posting stories and other works. We have:

A chat room, where you get to meet members and make new friends.
You can make a blog to tell us more about yourself.

It's loads of fun. I hope you enjoy yourself. Now for questions :)

*What's your favorite color?
*What's your favorite book or author?
*If you were any animal which would you be?
*Do you like to type or hand write things?

PM(private message) me if you have any questions.

Woohoo! I get to show the YWS rainbow!!

Greeters: The blue peoples (like me) that hang around the Welcome Forum waiting for newbies like you to greet, and and ask questions, and hope to encourage to you stick around.

Intructors
: The best reviewers YWS has to offer, you really need a great review? Ask one of them.

Junior Mods and Moderators: Mods watch over the site, making sure everything's okey dokey. JMs do the same, but only over specific forums.

Distinguished Members: Members who used to be mods, and retired.

Admin: The big guns, Nate is the head honcho, he created YWS. So we owe everything to him. (And he's totally awesome)

Welcome! Hope you make some new friends, and read some good stuff!

Hello Mandy! Welcome to YWS! I'm sure you'll have a great time. I'm sure your son is adorable. Maybe he will want to follow in your footsteps!

As great as your stories may be, YWS has a 3:1 ratio that you must follow. This means that you must write 3 reviews before posting a literary work. You do get one freebie to start out.

Also, don't talk in chat speak and caps - it's annoying, and we are a writers forum here. Also, this FAQ should be able to answer any questions that you have. Also, if you'll notice, my name is blue, which means I'm a greeter. I'm supposed to help new members, so please PM me if you have questions.

Thanks, and I hope to see you around the site :)

Those all sound really cool! What is favorite genre to write in? Are you working on any short stories or novels right now?

Hi there Mandy! I saw that we both have children. I actually have two daughters, Leila is three and Moriah is eighteen months. You must've had your son at a young age if you're just now graduating high school. I really admire you for being able to juggle raising a kid, along with school and writing not one but two novels! I have a ton of "novels" but none of them are finished. They always get abandoned around the third or fourth chapter.

I have a few questions for you:

1.) If you were ice cream, what flavor would you be and why?
2.) What is your favorite thing to photograph?
3.) How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
I am not addicted to reading, I can quit as soon as I finish one more chapter.

1. Chocolate, and I really don't have a reason.
2. It's a tie between nature and animals.
3. I've actually done this numerous times, and the last time it was around 102?

Haha, I just found this! Daniel is a lovely name for a boy... I'm glad you used it. :)

And vet's assistant! That's awesome.

If you need any help for the novel, you can bug me. I'm working on getting it edited for the publishing world myself, actually. I'm kind of hard, but hopefully helpful! :D
