Is there a way to add published dates when viewing lit works in someone's portfolio?

A serrodyne is a signal-processing technique used to shift the frequency of an electromagnetic wave by applying a continuous, linear phase ramp.

@ScarlettFire & @Omni ->> The dark mode for signatures has been fixed. Turns out the only reason that the dark reader script was missing it is that the signature style was applied directly rather than in a CSS class name.

@canopy ->> Page numbers have been added back to pinned threads.

Is there a way to add a notification when someone quotes you on the wall or on the forum? probably difficult to implement, but would be cool!

I see that the overlay is back on banners... Not sure if it's personal taste but I don't like it as it's hard to see peoples creative banners!

Gotta say I agree with this! I understand that it's there to make sure the white text/stars above the banner is plenty visible, but it does limit what I can do, and muddies the saturation. There seems to be ample drop shadow on the text. Perhaps give the same to the stars, and then scrap the overlay?

Hey Nate! Do we not have the ability to donate points to users anymore?

A lot of time users use point donation in order to give points as a prize for certain contests or as a thanks for reviews / banners etc. Just now I wanted to give 200 points to romanticchemist for making me a club banner and couldn't find the option to do so. Can we get that option back?

just thought of this, but with all the new games, especially word weave (and future games that are word-based (like if there was a "connections-y" game for example), or with library labyrinth) it would be super fun if there was a way to submit your own crossword/questions for the labyrinth/etc.!

just spitballing here because i'm not sure how many people are interested in making crosswords and things like that XD
[soon, i will submit myself to the stars]

That's a good idea @herb! For Word Trail and Word Blossom, it's mostly automatic. In Word Trail, I just put in the starting and ending words, and then an algorithm runs to determine the shortest possible path between those two words. For Word Blossom, I put in a word with seven unique letters, and then an algorithm runs that finds how many words can be generated.

However, Word Weave is quite a bit different, and cannot be done with algorithms. Instead, I use a couple APIs I finally found that do the job well. However, player submitted puzzles would be awesome.

For Library Labyrinth, a system for you to submit your own trivia would also be a great addition.

I'll make it happen.

do you think we’d be able to put different banners for mobile vs desktop ever? the different dimensions can be a challenge when designing readable graphics etc because i don’t think there’s a place on a banner where you can put text that is readable both on mobile and desktop…

Had a suggestion about co-authored works, often only the user who posts the main work gets notifs for likes/reviews/comments even when there are multiple authors. Would be great if that could be tweaked so that everyone gets a notif! It becomes very hard to keep track otherwise.

Also not sure how technically feasible this is but would be great to have some way to keep track of works that you have collabed/been marked co-authored in!

On the front page where it says "Lead Story" for top work, could it say "Top Work" to be inclusive of poetry/scripts/lyrics too? I really like the layout of that front page by the way and also love that the leaderboard now features avatars to give even more recognition to top reviewers etc.

Edit: Also could we have a "Nature" genre? There could of course be infinite genres we could use, but that is a consistent one that comes up a lot as one we are missing specifically for poetry... I think a ton of poetry on YWs would fall under that including Snoink's and my's vegetable / gardening poems.. another one I have often felt we are missing is "Love" or "Devotion" which is different than "Romance" and could encompass familial love or friendship love or site love.. I once posted a love poem for my sister under romance category and it was super misinterpreted xD and I ended up having to re-categorize as science. A lot of poetry on YWS I think falls under that love for friends category ... So I think it'd be welcome and used.

Are birthdays gone? I see cake days at the bottom of the community briefing, but is there any way to see when it's someone's birthday?

@candyhearts -> Sorry to say that birthdays is permanently gone. It’s part of the privacy updates I’ve made across the site since knowing someone’s birthday is personally identifiable information.

@canopy ->> Done! You'll find it listed under 'Collaborations' in both the Publishing Center and on your profile. Through the publishing center, you can finally edit work you have co-authored but was posted under someone else's username. And, notifications work now too.

@alliyah ->> Also done! Changed to "Literary Spotlight" on the homepage, and the Nature genre is added.
