February Poetry Exchange

What is a Poetry Exchange

A Poetry Exchange is an event where a set of poets get together and review each other's work.
The poets all bring poems that they want direct help with and put them in places to give easy reviews.
They divide the poems among themselves and get to reviewing.
When they are done reviewing the pile they have, they exchange again so that each poem at least gets 2 reviews.

At any time the original poet can check back on their poem to see if there is something the reviewer wants to work on with them.

There are two ways to go about this exchange. We are going to try a new approach using YWS as a hub and doing reviews on here instead of using word pads as described in "How to Run a Poetry Exchange."

Where the Poems will be Hosted

In order to submit poems into the exchange, you must either have it published on YWS.

How the Poems are Divided

Spoiler! :
Person A submits 3 poems: a, b, c
Person B submits 1 poem: d
Person C submits 4 poems: e, f, g, h
Person D submits 2 poems: i, j

That is a total of 10 poems.
10/4= 2.5, so 2 for two people, and 3 for two people.

Round One:
Person A gets to review: d, e, h
Person B gets to review: a, f, j
Person C gets to review: b, i
Person D gets to review: c, g

Round Two:
Person A gets to review: g, i
Person B gets to review: e, h
Person C gets to review: a, c, j
Person D gets to review: b, d, f

For the actual exchange a random generator will determine the shuffle for Round One, and I will make executive decisions for Round Two distribution.

Participation

Please be prepared to review multiple poems from Saturday, February 15th to Friday, February 28th.

Round One will be from 2/15 to 2/21.
Round Two will be from 2/22 to 2/28.

Signing Up Deadline: 2/14

Post on here with the following information:

How many poems you are thinking of submitting.
Absolutely no more than 7. I would suggest between 1 and 4.
If you already have the links, put them up.
Links to the poems must be given to me by the 14th at the latest.

If your internet connection is stable.
This is to determine if you will likely be able to get on the internet during a two week period.

How much of a procrastinator are you on a scale of 1-5.
1- Not a procrastinator
2 - Occasional procrastinator
3 - Self assigning deadline procrastinator
4 - Procrastinator that works well with deadlines
5 - Huge procrastinator

Want to participate but the spots are all full? Post anyways. I might be able to add you too.

Expectations

All Poetry Exchange participants are expected to post their reviews in a timely fashion within the weeks so that the next round can get under way.

1) If you miss reviewing during Round One, please review the Round One poems during Round Two as well as your Round Two poems.

2) If someone has unexpectedly dropped the exchange without reviewing any of their poems, the poems of active participants will be reviewed by pitying poets.
In other words, I'll send out a PM with the poems that still need their first or second review on 2/27 and ask people to fill in the gaps.

3) Please subscribe to this topic.

Current Places Available - 3

Hia!

*hugs*

So, serious time.

I'm thinking I'll post two or three poems. I'm going with two for right now.

My internet connection is very stable. No worries.

I'm around a 4. I'm a last minute Charlie on a lot of things, but I make time for what I care about.

And I will make sure to get those poem links up once they are published :)

Hugs,

Your Friend,

Hello! I'm going to submit four poems.
My internet should be fine unless there's an electrical fire near the power plant like the one that happened last semester, but I don't think that will last for two weeks. I'm definitely a 4.5 on the procrastination scale, but I love reviewing, which will make it a lot easier to get done.

I will choose my poems and have the links up promptly.

Hai Hai~ I'm going to jump off the deep end by submitting 4 poems~! I'm (not so) proud to place myself at 4 on the procrastination scale, but I have a ton of previous poems under my belt, so at least I have something to exchange should I not be able to jot down 4 full poems by Valentine's... ^^;

Ok, Let's see this poetry freak my mind is going though...Hopefully I can keep my novel on track!!

3 poems from me would be as much as I can do.

Connection for me is great! I could do for twelve hours or more straight everyday :P

I'm a level 2 procrastinator :P

Okay, I'm in. Kick my butt if I don't follow up on this!

Edit: Probably with one or two. First, reviewing so I can actually post them. (And I'm a level 5. Yeah, I think that explains everything. >.>)

Can I be a part of it?
Life works in funny ways sometimes. Some get hurt, others go through without a single bruise. I could tell so many stories of how I got each scar that is scattered across my flesh.

For everyone involved: Please post the links to your poems. The deadline is TOMORROW, please, I cannot stress enough how important it is to get it in before I start juggling the poems about. So far I only have MY two poems and one other.

If you do not post the links to your poems, you will be disqualified from participation.

Here I am joining at the last minute (if it is permitted of course) what a procrastinator, right? I'll pm the poems to you if that's alright because I don't have them published on YWS yet.

That's fine @fortis <3 If you could, I would appreciate you putting them up on a writer pad, pirate pad, or titan pad for reviews and send me the links to the pad.
