Moon's Whispers [Clary]

“Clary?” He asked through the door, and I heard it being opened just two seconds later. “Can I talk to you?”

“Depends,” I began, my eyes fixed on the trees outside. The night’s sky was pitch black, a greedy void of nothing that didn’t allow a single star to come through. The constant sound of leaves ruffling thanks to October’s cold winds also helped distracting me from the unpleasant thoughts he brought with him when he stepped into the room.

“On?”

“On whether you’re gonna say something stupid like you always do or actually accept what you did and have a conversation about it.” He hesitated for a second, so I turned around to meet his face. “An adult conversation, Isaac.”

“Are you calling me a kid now?” he asked and walked forward, genuine wonder in his golden eyes. It almost seemed like they were able to glow brighter than usual against the room’s darkness. He was handsome; no one could deny it. “Is that what this is all about? You think I’m incapable of being mature enough to tell you I love you and mean it?”

“Your actions prove your words wrong, just like your promises.” I bit my lip for a second, regretting the words as soon as they’d come out. Isaac’s low temper wasn’t a secret to anyone.

“And your stubbornness blocks reality,” he retorted, walking faster until his face was right in front of mine. “But I don’t judge you because of it, now, do I?”

“Is this the part where I’m supposed to feel flattered?”

“Why are you fussing about what I did so much all of a sudden? You’ve seen me doing it plenty of times before.”

“You used to stop before you killed them, Isaac…. This time you ripped the guy’s heart out,” I said, shutting my eyes but opening them again when the images flashed by. “And in front of his kid.”

“He had it coming,” he said simply, his jaw rising as he tightened it. “He was gonna put us in danger.”

“And you think someone would’ve believed his story? This isn’t how the pack works. You, out of everyone, should know how to—”

“What—you’re gonna blame me now?” he cut me off, anger shining through his eyes. “I’m the Alpha!”

“A shitty one, clearly,” I let out, regardless of whether that’d earn me a slap, a permanent scar, or even death by the hand of the only guy whom I managed to need and hate at the same time.

“What did you just say to me, Clarissa?”

I curled my bare toes, swallowing and restoring my balance so that I didn’t look as scared as I felt. In front of him, weakness wasn’t an option. “You heard me goddamn well.”

“You know the rules that come with disrespecting your Alpha,” he said, and a slight growl boiled inside his throat.

“So? Kill me. I don’t care. Let’s see how the pack falls apart with you getting rid of another one of your Omegas.” The words were out, and I could do nothing about it now. He took a second to process what I had just said, but, when he did, I felt my throat closing. This was a bad idea. I knew it from the moment his hand wrapped around my neck and the wall met my back.

“You should watch your mouth,” he growled, his teeth beginning to show and the claws of his hand cutting slightly into my skin.

“You may have fooled everyone, Isaac,” I said in a gasp, clenching his arm so that I could try and push him away. “But I know Kyle’s death wasn’t simply an accident.”

He cocked his head, pressing my neck tighter, almost insulted. “How dare you?”

“I saw you that night,” I let out, feeling how my head pounded and got heavier with the lack of oxygen, and the instinct inside me began forcing its way out. As much as I wanted it to come through, though, it was against the laws. I needed to push it back.

“Clary,” he warned in a growl, probably noticing how my gums expanded. “Don’t even think about it.” Isaac pressed harder then.

I was supposed to obey him. This would get me into big trouble if it didn’t end like he wanted it to…but there were things I couldn’t control. The animal inside of me being one.

“Clarissa,” he said again, though it was useless. The pain in my body grew, the usual feeling of every single bone snapping following close behind. Isaac’s back hit the opposite wall before I knew it, and the world began to grow around me—walls, roof, furniture, it all enlarged.

The floor greeted me, cold and hard. I felt my extremities morphing, rage turning solely into pain. Everything hurt now, but the sensation faded just as quickly as it had appeared. I’d learned to quicken the process, because dragging it and letting it go on by itself meant unnecessary torture—I learned my own limits already.

My vision was sharp now, and I noticed Isaac’s angry eyes morphing into his protective ones. I backed away as much as I could, hearing the wood creak under my paws, but he kept taking dangerous steps toward me. Growling at him was useless, too, since he simply growled back. The hairs in my back rose, and that was enough sign for Isaac to stop.

He knelt down where he was, looking straight into my eyes. “If somebody finds out you defied me like this, they’ll kill you regardless of whether you’re one of the last Three or not.” If I could’ve rolled my eyes, I would have. He had nothing on me. Aggression against a pack member was just as forbidden, but he wasthe Alpha. And even if I was right—and I was—they would believe him over me. “Jesus, Clary…you’ve grown so strong. I wouldn’t want to hurt you over some stupid thing like this.”

Isaac began to reach his hand out, and I knew exactly what he wanted to do. The bastard intended to pet me.

As if I’d let that happen.

Without giving him further warning, I reached out and took his hand on my mouth. He didn’t have time to react fast enough, and the shock gave me time to figure out an escape route before he came at me.

Releasing him, I targeted the window and ran against it, not even bothering on second-thinking it. He was fast; I wouldn’t risk wasting time.

“Clarissa!” I heard glass shattering and his voice fading into the wind behind me. “What did you see that night?”

But I ignored him, seeing how the night received me with open arms instead.

Pack? pack???? Lycanthrope? I thought...Are all your stories completely stand-alone, set in a different universe with just same names? Cause, at first it was angels, then demon, then...
okay, my mistake, anyway...

Hi, me again! I can't complain much about this story.
Just, "How dare you." with a full stop, not a question mark. Because Issac was just stating this as a monologue?(i think it's best to describe.) Even it uses the 5W1H words.

To be honest, This is my first story I read mainly about werewolves. So, good job in making me stay until the end.

"Seeing how the night received me with open arms." nice ending.

And the good old werewolf stories that everyone missed, it was a nice short story, yet I think the end is missing something...
Over all the plot in this shirt story was nice, the complexed feelings are so real, I don't know what to oppose on xD
It was nicely written, I liked it.
I wonder how this isn't a novel though.
Keep on writing dear!

Hahaha! Yes!! :)
Thank you!! And you're definitely right!
I was experimenting with the whole thing, and I'm glad to see what people thought of it in general! I'm absolutely going to take into consideration what you said!

Haha!! I0m very happy to head you felt the feelings as if they were real ones! :) That's one of my main goals!!
And, again, thank you! This will be indeed a novel, but I've changed some things around since this was just a test to see where my grounds were! :)

Again, thanks and I hope you have a nice day/night!!

Oh your welcome :)
You can tag me with the first chapter of this story when its out for me to read it :D

Hey writer1204!!

Well... It was a very interesting piece but seemed a bit unfinished for short story.
Hope you continue ahead.
Do let me know when you expand it..

Maybe you could work on your imaginary a wee bit more.
And plot twists would be amazing too. Otherwise it was really good.
Enjoyed it thoroughly!!

Keep up the good work!! :D

Hi, Anubha99!!!! :)

Thanks you so much for taking your time and reviewing it! I apologize for the late reply, but school has been HECTIC.
Anyway, yes!! I totally see your point!I was simply experimenting with tone and seeing how I could build up a scene in the werewolf context. I'll definitely look into the whole imaginary deal with care and it'll be better!

Actually, it indeed will be extended into a novel, but I've changed a bunch of things since this was just kind of a "test"! :)
I'll let you know when I post the Prologue!! :)

Thanks again and I hope you have a nice day/night!!

Hey writer1204!

First of all, well written. I really loved it :) Have you considered expanding it into a novel? If you have or you will, please let me know. I'd love to read it.

Okay, so like I said, it's really well written. So I can't suggest anything apart from this -

'' “Clarissa,” he said again, though it was useless. The pain in my body grew, the usual feeling of every single bone snapping following close behind. Isaac’s back hit the opposite wall before I knew it, and the world began to grow around me—walls, roof, furniture, it all enlarged. ''

The imagery isn't that strong here. It's a little hard to picture this scene. Maybe it's just me, but I thought I should let you know.

Otherwise, great job!

Hey!!! Sorry for the late reply! It's been hectic!
Anyhow, I wanted to thank you for taking your time and reading this! :) It really does mean a lot!
I was truly just experimenting, and I'll definitely look into what you pointed out since I've been changing some things.
Oh, and yes!! Haha, this will be a novel--definitely! But, as I told you, I was experimenting and I'll be posting the definite version (which would be the prologue) sometime soon!!
Thanks again and I hope you have a nice afternoon! :)
