Sitting in the cold
On the cement in front
Of the door no one ever
Wants to use,
Chatting while waiting
For my mom to pick us up
And bring us out of the wind
That blows hard and threatens
To whip the bracelet I'm making
Out of my hands,
We laugh as you realize
Your hands are so white
And cold as I sit with
My backpack pulling me down and
We talk about classmates
And crushes and those
Kids who are ignorant
In their words while
The wind keeps blowing and
The fall air's cold and
The cement is hard and stony,
Wondering about classes
And nets in the dirt
And while you laugh like a kid
I wonder if this is what it feels like
To be young again in autumn
Sitting next to your best friend
Outside school in the wind

This is a true story. The real thing was on 10/11/23, I published it right after writing it and wrote it right after living it. Fun times after school, fun times.

I miss you, J :'(

This is a very beautiful writing. I'm really not someone who likes poetry, but this...I love.
When I read the lines of this poem, I felt a sense of nostalgia. It reminds me of my best friend and our high school days. It really brings back the good memories.
I love this writing a lot.
When I read this, it reminds me of my best friend and all the silly things we did together. The thought of it all just makes my heart soften. I really love this poem and I feel like I can relate to its message very well.
The beauty of every writing is it's message, and the message you want to covey was perfectly understood.
Once again, I really loved this poem.

Hello, it's Serrurie, here to leave a review! (But a very quick one, because I couldn't find a single thing to criticize!)

The Good Stuff/Personal Thoughts: I love how you beautifully craft a little scene before us, about the front door and all of the different types of students in school. The end seems so poetic to me, the best out of everything, but I can't figure out why. Honestly, the line about backpacks pulling down is SO TRUE though! I honestly wish someone would get the guts up to protest about the weight on students' backs. I've never really felt the need to sit on a front porch during a time of cutting wind, but this poem is so positive, it makes every single part of the atmos[here, to the white hands and the weight of the backpack to the cold wind seem so enjoyable, I would (almost) go and do it right now.
Happy writing!
-Serrurie.

I like how this poem talks about the beauty of friendship in the Fall. Middle school is the middleground of life. It lasts such a short time and must be cherished forevermore. It held a sense of innocence that I had liked seeing.

I hope that you will have a relaxing day where the autumn leaves fall gently on the cement sidewalk, when the scent of pumpkins is in the air.

Goodbye for now! :>
