Darkness (love or hate?)

by smanda4

Chose me darkness whispers
Follow me, it said.
And like the breath of the wind,
I lost my way amongst the trees,
It embraced me, then it smothered me
And so I woke.

It placed its cold slippery hand in mine,
And darkness and I walked hand in hand
Amongst the breaking waves
In the place between love and hate
It asked me if I loved.
I had to close my eyes and debate,
Uneducated in the complexity of the word
I shrugged and said “I don’t hate.”

And so we moved away
To watch the science of love and hate,
Races divvied and seeping wounds,
Unholy acts on holy land,
One man may love you but the other may take,
And the boy soldiers who know nothing of love
Pick up the only thing that makes any senses,
The AK47 made him a man maybe it will make him great,
And the families torn and divvied by religion, dare I say race,
Forget who they are in the chance that you will not see, what made them that way.
It’s never been more complicated, except when you hate.

And then I saw love.
Beautiful and untamed.
Happy fathers on there daughters wedding day,
And proud new fathers at the birth of there first child.
Laughter, joy, forget about the rest.

Happy tears poured out of my eyes, and I had to turn to darkness and say yes I do love,
But darkness turned away
And I could not understand.

You've got a deep, beautiful piece coming along. but some parts are too wordy, others not enough, and this makes it confusing. sorry, again would love to do a line by line, but my computer refuses to co-operate. i'll try again later.

I send you buckets full of stars, the prettiest rainbow I've ever seen and a really adorable unicorn
