How can a broken mug hurt me this much?
Was it because it was from someone special?
Was it the way she broke it?
Willingly?
With blank emotion in her eyes?
Or the way she went back doing whatever makes her happy
Right after she broke my heart?
Or Was it the way she talked to me?
Was it the way she shouted at me?
Was it the reason she told me how big of a disappointment i am?
Was it because of my fragile heart?
Or was it my delicate soul?
Why did she call me sensitive?
Was i truly sensitive? or is the world hurting me too much?
My blue little broken mug
She told me she loved me
Is this what you call love?
You shout at me
You rip apart my writings
Tell me ugly words
Set my books ablaze
Just because it was something which made me happy ?
And call it love?
How can a broken mug hurt me this much

Honestly, I have always been a sucker for sad poems that make me feel depth and really wonder how the main character is feeling.
The poem itself made me wonder heaps of questions like who is she? or what hurt was the world inflicting? I like to keep thinking though because it makes me remember the poem better.
I hope you will write a second of this in more detail to stop my whirlpool of questions
Keep writing your amazing!!!!!!!
Honestly, even without any of the other emotional stuff, I still get hurt when any of my mugs break. I had some really nice ones in my collection and they have slowly gotten broken over the years and every time, I cry, so I can already relate to this poem!
The poem is made up almost entirely of questions, and I think this works really well. I do think it could be even better if some of these questions were answered by the end, the narrator slowly realising something deeper about the person who broke the mug. I also wonder if you could play around with the structure and perhaps separate it into a few different stanzas and delve deeper into how the feeling felt rather than telling us what happened and that it broke your heart!
Keep writing <3
Thank you so much i will try to follow your instructions from the next time
Hi there! Apart from the unnecessary punctuation marks, I think it's a very beautiful poem. Sadly, the people we love and care for not always understands the things that makes us happy. They continue their lives without knowing that they broke us. That's why the bond between us is being damaged. Also, being sensitive is a wonderful thing
Thank you so much
hiii happy Friday from a knight of the Green Room and Team Tortoise.
Consider putting a period after willingly, or removing the first question mark. Willingly being its own question read funny to me.
what is blank emotion? Typically a blank look would be devoid of emotion.
I know that using "Or" at the beginning seems to be a gimmick in this poem, but it feels a bit out of place here. Saving it for when the Mc begins to question themself hits a lot harder as a juxtaposition.
I'm not sure "reason" is the right word here when combined with the previous line which is talking about being shouted at. What reason are we referring to?
might just be me, but it feels like it shouldn't be little broken blue mug. The order feels unnatural.
It might just be a formatting issue from yws, but the question mark is all alone on its line.
I like using the object as a blue mug for a metaphor. I would have liked to see more of that in the last third where we instead switch to writing and burning paper. If you wanted to keep some of those images but make it more cohesive, I think you could use things like scalding and tepid tea, shards that cut, a broken handle and chipped edges etc. Because we never see the mug breaking or know why it relates to this poem besides being a reminder as potentially a gift. I think youre really close to making it hit a lot harder.

I will definitely try to follow your instructions thank you
Hi Princess! I am here to review your work!
This poem is definitely painful. Not painful to read necessarily, it isn't terribly written, just painful content.
I think is shows the toxicity that some deal within relationship (platonic or romantic or familial) very well.
These lines. Oof. I have had dreams like this. Where the person I love is so uncaring and heartless. I think it is not only a reality for many but also a fear many people have, especially those of us who find it hard to trust others as a result of being hurt in the past.
Indeed! That is always the question for us "sensitive" lot. Is it really a 'me' issue?? I believe we just care as we should. I believe perhaps others have allowed themselves to become numb to the world and its plight. We are not wrong in our sensitivity, and they are not wrong for coping as they needed to.
Well, that's just abusive. I hope if anyone is being treated that way they are able to walk away for themselves. </3
Thank you for sharing your poem with us! I consider a poem successful if it makes me think and wonder. Yours did that for me. Happy writing!
Thank you so much
