If you really knew me,
Would you be afraid?
If you really knew me,
Would you be ashamed?
I don’t want to lie,
So I won’t talk to you.
Love don’t promise,
So I guess we’re through.
I’ve been hurt by true love before.
It’s hard to love you,
When I love like a whore.
And I’ve never felt so abused by you,
Kick me when I’m down,
That’s your cue.
I’m going to love you like a freak.
Between the covers, true love we seek.
We search our bodies to find the key,
But the answers nothing we can’t see.
Love don’t Promise,
Let me be.

The way you've expressed such vivid emotions means so many can relate to this piece. I love the raw honesty of the feelings described. Amazing poem
Wow. The picture tied in with the poem is just perfect. Though I've never felt like this before, I can feel the pain. Beautiful, just beautiful.
Wow...this poem made me stop and blink.

That verse....really hit home. I thank you kindly, for putting into words what so many of us know inside. That you get hurt, even in true love. And sometimes...sometimes you love like a whore.
Amazing poem.

This is exactly. Word for word. A relationship just got kicked from last night. This speaks to me like a symbolic call from above, and I greatly appreciate your effort into putting blunt and true emotion and fact into a very well written poem. Kudos to you!
