Like always I apologize for the lower case I's and I can not wait to hear your thoughts and ideas for the next Truth behind article. Now special thanks to my buddy CardinalSouth for picking this certain topic. Y'all should check her out as well her stories are Brilliant.
Ps. Sorry for the over use of the word Young person for the life of me I can not think of the correct term for kiddies and teens.
As of late I have been complimenting over why exactly young people today feel the need to have a boyfriend and or a girlfriend. What has them pressured or craving the attention that their other holds for them. In addition, I believe I have found a few reasons that pop out more than the others.
The first reason that I'm going to be bring up today is this. In our society young children since their old enough to toddle have been pressured into what is the social norm. Find a man or woman. Settle down. Have kids. Live life happily. These are the steps that are suppose to be happening. A Prime example is, ( an I apologize in advance but Disney offers the most simple way of explaining thoughts on this certain subject.) Disney is known for it's princess movies, and each movie the girl ends up with a man and settles down to raise a family. Every single Disney movie that I've seen so far beside Brave and Frozen is like this. Even in the real world it is known that if you are still single by the time you reach the age of I would say 40 but the actual age is 32, and are still single odds are you will remain single. Even family pressures kids to go out and mingle and date, find that one man or women and create kiddies. Perhaps if society noted that it is okay to be single and happy without an uproar less young people will be pressured into the ago on struggle of finding someone.
Next, is that human beings as a species thrive on the hierarchy of needs. One of the most important needs, that must be met in order to maintain homeostasis, is the need to feel belonging and or love. Now as you can see in Young people, in today's world is that they are caught in a push and pull effect by adults. Adults tell kids (This push and pull effect is more dominant in teenagers and pre-teenagers.) That their old enough to have more freedom and to go out and explore their world, yet they pull back stating they are to young to explore as well. Young people need to feel belonged and love without the confusion of the push/pull factor. And before I continue, adults listen to your sons and daughters and nephews and nieces when they say they feel the same love you do. There is no, " Oh your to young to know what real love is. Only adults know that." Love is Love, its that simple. So when your child comes home heartbroken because his or her real love was shattered. Be comforting because you truly do not know what they are going through in the sense a young person to young person can. Now back to the topic on hand. It's human nature to want to feel like you are the world to another human being.
The last reason, and this one is quite short since it really needs little explaining. Why not? why not look for someone that makes your heart flutter once again, to hold hands together and to just be with that once person that truly and fully understands you. Why not, race through the hallways thinking of the next time you and your other will hang out. Don't get me wrong adults feel this way to when they partake in re-kindering their old love on dates night or just being together. That feeling never leaves, even if it turns that person was not right for you the feelings you had, the memories never leave.
These are the best reasons on why young people are so fixated on finding and having a girlfriend or boyfriend. In addition, I would love to hear your thoughts on this one as always.

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
Well, it appears you summed things right up! Yep, it's me, the Luigi's Mansion Easter Egg guy! It's been a while, eh? Anyways, you really did capture every reason why young people would like to date. I feel like you could have explained how the push/pull factor relates to young relationships a little better, but otherwist, good job.
Now, for a suggestion.
This one I think you'll like. "The Truth Behind Five Nights at Freddy's"!
Perhaps gaming's biggest conspiracy theory right now, speculation has been blasted back and forth on this one. I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter. If you need somewhere to base your thoughts off of, I recommend MatPat's YouTube video "Game Theory: Five Nights at Freddy's". Seriously, check this out, it is some crazy stuff!
Thanks and yea all be sure to check it out
Great!
Hello there! How about a review?
Great idea you have here! I love it when people contemplate things that, well, don't really make much sense normally. This is an interesting topic, too!
I just wanted to quickly mention that I think it would have a nicer flow if you either did your beginning comment at the end, or if you labeled it as a Authors Note perhaps... wrote it in bold, too, maybe. It's just that having those paragraphs lead into the essay, is kind of distracting. It is nice that you thanked your friend and all, but the having the link to her wall in bold was also a bit distracting.
You make some pretty good points in this essay of yours, but some things I can't completely agree with.
This point is true, there is an underlying message in the better half of childhood urging kids to find the right partner... but this is not why most teenagers/young adults/young people find themselves in relationships. Honestly, when hormones kick in, there's no question that you'll start wanting a relationship. It's kind of a lame truth, but yeah, hormones definitely contribute to wanting to find someone.
I personally think that hormones are the thing that causes you to look, and once you find someone, that's when love takes over. That's just my opinion though.
I think that's all I have to say though! That was a fun read, it really made me think.

Yea boy those hormones have a girl stuck to a boy like a flea on old blue
And vice versa. XP
yup :3
I totally agree with you on this, that's why I absolutely loved Frozen (I haven't seen Brave). Also Maleficent is another great movie that shows girls that you don't have to be saved and loved by a boy to feel special.
When I was in high school, I felt the pressure of being in a relationship because my friends were but now I look back and think of how stupid that was because most of their relationship just caused drama XD
It's only in the past two years when I have actually felt comfortable about being single and haven't been caught up trying to seek out a possible boyfriend. I find that I'm quite lucky with the way that I see myself as I know a lot of people in my place (I'm 20 and I've never been in a relationship) take it out on themselves and think that there is something wrong with them. But I know I just haven't met the right person yet and all those missed chances were just not meant to be. Plus, most of the guys I meet are douchebags that I wouldn't waste my time on.
I've seen a few of my friends end up in crappy relationships and I feel that it is because of this need to feel loved, even if it is by the wrong person.
People shouldn't be looked down on for being single and have to put up with people saying stuff like, 'hang in there'. It's like, seriously, I don't have some sort of deadly disease! I'd just rather wait then end up with some guy I don't even like and then end up regretting the decision for the rest of my life.
I think Disney is going about things the right way though. Don't get me wrong, I love the classics but films with strong, independent female leads are the way to go <3
I know what I'm saying is focusing on young girls but that's just because I am a girl, I'm not disregarding that guys don't go through the same thing.
I'm glad you agree, may I ask if you have an idea for the next one?
Hmm... you could do something about sexuality? That's a topic that people tend to have drastically different views on. But it's also a touchy subject so I'd understand if you didn't want to go down that road
Yea it would be touchy but its also something needed to be said all look into it
Thank you!
Don't mention it!
