E - Everyone

In mix-match

I have spent my life observing the world though the eyes of someone else. Where others might see just a mall. In my mind I see the acres of forest that once laid there, the creatures that were sent farther and farther into the littlest space that they already have, while we grow, burn, and destroy more of their home. When in my history class we learned of the growth of America; while others saw a grand victory. I saw the dictatorship and using brute force to kick those who lived on these lands for until there ancestors stood proud. The disease we spread through them off killing them off one by one. But what took me most by surprised was when my English teacher one day asked us what was courage. As I witness the rise and fall of hands each shouting out answered such as " There superman!" " No courage is the leaders!" " No sillies your all wrong it's Obama!" and the endless chants went on for the hour. Now our teacher told us to write down what we believe to be courage, What is a hero? Are heroes made or are the born? well my friends this was my response.

Now in order to define courage we must first decide whether you are asking courage in general? the moment where one's true courage appears. For me Courage is taking the first step, even if you stand alone to create change. Through history we have witness courageous people or we thought were most were political leaders. But what did they do to become courageous? did they just win the election? no my friends they were courageous because they thought to make change and took the first and many steps afterward to excel and try to create change. Even if many original thoughts become diluted in our society. But, not just famous or politicians are courageous. Take Rosa parks for instance. She refused to move for a white man on a bus and for that went to jail. She could have leveled with the norm in society and move but she chose change and took that step. By her courageous act it started the barrel that would roll down the hill of Civil rights movement. There are many more courageous people out there that I could go on for days in comparing and explaining what makes them courageous. But the point is that courage is being the one to make the first step toward change or your goals.

Now as we move on to heroes that is a tricky topic at the least; would we be implying the average comic book hero? or going deeper into the root of heroism and the everyday Joe? The definition of a Hero is stated in the dictionary " a person, Typically a man, who is admired and idolized for courage, Outstanding acts of achievements, or Nobel qualities." By analyzing the definition we can conclude that a hero is can fall in the line of the men and women out in field, or protecting our home. A hero can be and most definitely is our military force. Those men and women get up each mourning with the thoughts of protecting us and fighting for our morals. Those who joined not for immoral or hideous ugly reasons but with the purest intention in mind. Did you know? that while our politicans are raking in reward after reward and yet the military takes cuts? Is this how you treat your heroes?

Now for me I do not think heroes are made, they are created when given the chance. Take in point the police force. They are trained to act, but that only education the true test is out on the field where they fall and hide below the belt, or rise and become the hero needed. Even the comic book heroes were not born they were made. For instance, Batman was just an average day Joe until his parents were murdered. Whether then going through the grief cycle and moving on he chose to avenge their deaths and became the hero you know today.

As you can see Courage and heroes can be made and defined in millions of ways. But these are my thoughts for them I hope that I have defined and answer these question as good as humanly possible and good day.

Hello! I'm bored so I thought I should stalk your work >:D This essay is really good. I mean really good. You successfully make the reader think about the true meaning of courage while displaying your own thoughts, and for the most part you don't ramble. You need to teach me some time ; D. First and foremost you forgot to mention Ky. Like, You know he always gets hurt and gets back up despite the fact! (JK you didn't really have to put him. ) Anyways, for the real advice, your grammar is getting remarkably better, but it needs a little more work. You are still forgetting to capitalize the first letter of each sentence. Also in the beginning you are making compound sentences into separate sentences, which is not good. Instead of "When others see a mall. I see..." it should be "When others see a mall, I see..." That way you don't have fragments. Also, I understand that you want to really express the word "courage", but please avoid capitalizing the C like is a proper noun. That's all for now, good luck with your writing! Keep writing, you are doing great.

thanks, and Nuu your right. I shall add ky into his whole special section called Chattin with ky :3

lol XD I just imagined you making a whole portfolio labeled "Just For Ky."

Hey don't tempt cause I will :)

Hello there!
I'm gonna give you a short review, this is my first review on an essay, so don't have your hopes too high!
I never read articles, but the title caught me (I know, there isn't a title hah).

The first sentences got me hooked already.

I have spent my life observing the world though the eyes of someone else.

Just a great way to start an article.
I really liked your first paragraph. It got me to think; What right do we have to drive other away from their homes? Of course, we need homes too, but that still doesn't give us the right.

Overall, the whole thing got me to think about that not all ''heroes'' really have true courage, only those who really made a change.

The only thing I noticed while reading through it was that you should have used a comma between born and they:

...hero needed. Even the comic book heroes were not born , they were made. For instance...

You should consider have some line breaks in your article, making it more organized.
Well written, and an interesting theme!

Hey!

So this is a very reflective work which is great.
Although I can see why you would say it needs a title, because it is rather hard to define when you read it. :)

My major criticism of this work is the fact that it is in massive chunks.
For example:

I have put the whole thing in, because then you can see where the dialogue lines fall and that they should all be separated.
Massive texts like this are difficult to read and tend to put the reader off.
I would highly recommend breaking this down.
But as for the content, very interesting and very comical.

Well done. XD

Keep writing

Now, a great big warning before I review this piece: I don't usually review essays.
But I was intrigued by your teacher's question and your amazingly thoughtful response.
First of all, I love all of the ideas you conveyed in this essay/article. I certainly agree that politicians aren't the best of people. And you can turn to America and see corruption. And then you turn to third-world countries and the Middle East, and you see more corruption.
I love the idea that you kept on repeating: To be courageous is to be the one to make the first step to change.
I do feel that we need more appreciation for the heroes in our society, whether its the military or the police. But I did feel a little disappointed that you didn't mention the unsung everyday heroes. What about the woman who stepped forward for feminism? What about the little 6-year old boy who stood up for his little sister? What about all those relief services and charities that work hard to provide for the hungry and orphaned? I believe you could have addressed those topics as well in the heroes category of the essay.
Other than that, there were quite a lot of grammar issues, including capitalization, run-on sentences, and misplaced punctuation.
Example : "Whether then going through the grief cycle and moving on he chose to avenge their deaths and became the hero you know today."
This could be changed to : "Instead of continuing on through the grief cycle and moving forward, he chose to avenge their deaths. And through that, he became the hero you know today : Fighting evil and saving the good."
Also, I thought the ending could be better. It just sounds too angry and misplaced. I suggest ending with a better statement than "Good day."
Overall, you had wonderful ideas, and your opinions are brilliant. Just work on your grammar and that ending.
Keep writing!
