Red, the color of roses;
of love and rage under autumn leaves-
Orange, for technology,
of fire and neon and honesty's lies
Yellow, for hopeful days,
of smiles and sunsets and Shelter's song.
Green, the color of summer-
of grass and go and wonderful words.
Blue, of the sea,
of the sky, being sad, and Winter's reflection.
Violet, for the inbetween,
of those kids and "hopeless" and learning to fly.
Purple, for justice,
of royalty and whispers and the stars in the sky.
The rainbow, for us.

(I had to review one of your poems. You are one of my favorite writers on here.)
Hi! Happy Review Day! My name is Ari and I will be reviewing your poem today.
Does each color actually have these significant meanings to you? Because from a reader's point of view, it seems like you just added random words to random colors. If that's the case, then that makes for very sloppy work.
However, as i can see from below, this is your first work. You will get better in time. Keep writing! You're awesome. Jesus loves you!
Heya, you're first work! Awesome and you have 5 reviews! Mega awesome! You are very deep in this poem, and its wonderful.
I am just confused about a few things:
How does orange relate to technology?
How is violet hopeless? Maybe it's because it has a dark shade to it, but it doesn't feel 'hopeless to me.
Also, "the rainbow, for us." Compared to the majority of the poem, it seems bland. It just doesn't give us the sense of beauty you gave the colors. I would suggest making it more descriptive or really play with the words. Make it effective so we really remember he last line.
Great job on this poem! Keep writing more poems and stories! You're creative and you should never give up!
I answered some of the questions you have below >w<
and ahh thank you I know I already told you that but thank you
Woah, my first piece gets featured?!
Thank you all!! <3
woah this is a good poem.
good job pal
Hey there WanderlustStardust,
Myjaspercat here to leave you a review.
First off welcome to YWS!!
Overall I really liked this piece. Personally I didn't find any major problems, which is always a plus. I do think that your poem could do without punctuation on every line, but it's not that big of an issue. For the most part though, I think you did a good job. If you have any questions/comments feel free to leave them. Good luck and continue writing.
Agh woah hi!!

So the orange for technology thing... there's a lot behind it. There's Portal 2, where the villian GLaDOS is an AI with an orange eye, who I really do like a lot -w- she's a very interesting character! There's also a line from an Owl City song, "...and I am the orange in the overcast, a color that you visualize..." which really jumps out at me for some reason.
Oh whoops in-between?? Like that?? I'll fix it XD
Violet was a color that really, to me, signified a change, and that's why I have "those kids and 'hopeless'" because a lot of people are going through a lot of changes every day, and then I have "...learning to fly" there because that's what we do, as people. We learn from our mistakes and we fly afterwards.
Yeah, the ending, looking back on it is quite odd. I'll play with it
Listen, i dont know how old you are but nevertheless, do not stop writing. You have so much potential you dont even realize it yet. You understand the world around you and its so astonishing that you feel this deeply at your age. Feeling these emotions can take a tole on you..be careful and stay wise

Aaah woah hi!! And tysm!!
<33 thanks,, you too
Helllllllllllllo! Welcome to YWS, I'm Angel or Ryan whichever you prefer to call me. This is a really cool topic to see with poetry, I mean I never would have thought of focusing on colors. I believe you were trying to say something with this? I mean I don't see any grammatical or spelling errors, so I might as well start talking about how frickin deep this is. Some of these I never would have thought of for that particular color, like orange and technology. I'm not going to pretend I understand the whole thing, but poetry is usually very personal, so I know it has a really important meaning. I think I'm just rambling now.
Sorry. But this says a lot (even if I don't exactly understand a lot of it) and I hope you keep writing!
@woahhitherepal @Flumadiddle loooooooook
Aaa hi!!

The focus on color came from my love of -most- colors, and I wanted to take a break from writing poems about sadder things to something that soothed me.
I took a lot of my inspiration came from Owl City's "The Technicolor Phase," which is a really soothing song for me when I get anxious and all that jazz ;w;
I tend to associate music with sound (I don't have synesthesia but I still do it, haha.) so when I hear certain songs, I start to build a color palette in my head, almost. When the song and the images and my mood all combine perfectly, this is the sort of stuff that gets created.
Sort of.
And omg thank you!!
