You inspired me.
You told me that I could.
You helped me when I fell.
You rebuked me when you should.

You told me I was better.
You thought that I was great.
You believed in me.
You helped me change my fate.

You were and are my hero.
You have changed my life.
But now you need a hero.
To help you through strife.

So I'll correct you when you're wrong.
I'll remind you that you can.
I'll pick you up when you fall.
I'll be your helping hand.

I know that you are great.
I know you'll make it through.
I'll help you turn around.
I'll inspire you.

Hi, I'm here to write a review in this poem, so I hope you don't mind. Okay, so this poem...it's amazing. I can see how this would relate to my friendship with this one girl I am friends with. She was always there for me when I needed her, and she needed me to be there for her. She did whatever it takes to pull me out of despair, and I would rather do something to repay her. I would like to say how this poem is truly beautiful, and it really touched me. So again, this is a really nice poem, and I hope your poems will make you successful in the future :)

This is a very special poem. I mean this by I love how in the beginning your friend is the one helping and letting you survive, but by the end you are holding your friend up! like with the...

You inspired me.
You told me that I could.
You helped me when I fell.
You rebuked me when you should.

and then

I know that you are great.
I know you'll make it through.
I'll help you turn around.
I'll inspire you.

Hello, icannothearthings here for a short review! I thought this was a really beautiful poem, but I'll review this by stanza.

"You inspired me.
You told me that I could.
You helped me when I fell.
You rebuked me when you should." The first three lines are fine, but I don't think "rebuked" is the right word for this poem. It just doesn't flow well.

"You told me I was better.
You thought that I was great.
You believed in me.
You helped me change my fate." I think the third line doesn't work with this poem, this stanza even.

"You were and are my hero.
You have changed my life.
But now you need a hero.
To help you through strife." The second line is WAY TOO CUTESY. I have no idea what you should change, but it sounds like something from a third grader's writing sample.

"So I'll correct you when you're wrong.
I'll remind you that you can.
I'll pick you up when you fall.
I'll be your helping hand." This stanza is fine :)

"I know that you are great.
I know you'll make it through.
I'll help you turn around.
I'll inspire you." The first line is, again, cutesy!!!!!

Aside from that, I think you have great diction, and I love your story and characters. Good job!

Alex out!

Hey, shiney1 here!

Overall Impression

This is a very cute and sweet poem! It's not so mushy that you become uncomfortable, yet it is still personal enough to sound genuine. The first stanza kept me interested when it not only mentioned that being a friend means being kind to a person, but also calling out their mistakes in a loving manner. The transition from how the person was a friend to you to how they need your friendship now was unexpected and pleasant.
The poem did not flow that well, however, and I had to reread a few lines where the flow broke. A few rhymes seemed stressed and some syllable differences between neighboring lines contributed to the break in flow.

Nitpicks

You told me I was better.
You thought that I was great.
You believed in me.
You helped me change my fate.

"Better" sounds a bit strange at the end of the first line. My mind automatically thought, "Better than what?" Details! Details! Or you could just change the word to something else, which shouldn't be too bad since it doesn't have to rhyme with anything.
Also, the difference in the number of syllables in the last two lines is noticeably different, so different that it sounds choppy.

Everything else is alright, flow wise, but I know this poem could be further improved! It's an uplifting piece, something we need more of on YWS.

I love it. It is a very sweet poem. The rhymes are very good. I still, of course, do have notes.

*You've inspired me.

*You have changed my life

*But now you need a hero,
To help you through the strife

*I'll help you turn around,
And I'll inspire you.

These are really just suggestions, so you don't need to take them, it's my opinion. I personally think that this will help the fluency. Of course, the fluency is great for the most part. I really do love this poem.
