To my friend, who'll probably outlive me thousands of years into the future,

Hey, I hope this letter finds you well. If you didn’t hear, I’ve not got much to live, unfortunately. I already said my goodbyes to everyone and am now resting peacefully residing at a shack down by the small town of Evergale counting down my final days. Y'know, that place we went to for… what is it, your 470th birthday? You said you wanted to see fresh albineberries, and it was the closest place we could go without spending a fortune.

I know you probably won’t see this for a while. After all, a journey across the entire continent is bound to take more than a couple of fortnights. And y'know, elves tend to take things slow; 'specially you blud. But by the time you read this, I’ll probably have already passed. I hope you won’t be too saddened by my departure, though.

I may be only 64 in your eyes, but I've lived plenty enough, and I’m satisfied with the life I’ve had. 'Specially since I got to meet you in this life. Though I may just be a fleeting memory, a fading nobody, I hope to at least remain on this earth, remembered by you for at least a couple more centuries.

It’s okay if you forget me, just promise me that it won’t be too soon, and that you'll come by to visit my grave.

Oh, speaking of graves, I'd like you to do me one favor. Can you grab maybe a handful of reimonds on your way to visit me? I asked for my grave to be built in that meadow where we first met, so unless I’m getting scammed even in the afterlife, you should be able to find it there.

Sincerely, Eliote

(Author's Notes: Albineberries are basically white grapes, and they are extremely rare; only being harvestable in certain arid places up north. Wine made by albineberries are extremely popular in the Heatherian continent.
Reimonds are flowers that blossom on trees. They bloom in the fall and are known for their unique appearance of only having 4 petals. Reimonds symbolize the spirit of the dead, more specifically, the spirit of deceased loved ones.
Also, in case you haven't caught on, this work takes place in a fictional world.)

Hey, there! Thanks for sharing this. It's very sweet and touching. You definitely established the sense that these two people have had a long friendship and developed a loving bond. It's cool that you could show that with just one character's perspective. I think the call-back to previous events these two have spent together helps to show that they've been around each other a lot and had many times that strengthened their relationship.

I really appreciate that this is just a testament of what appears to be a platonic friendship. There's a place for romance, but I like it when I find something that shows that characters cherish a platonic bond that can mean just as much as a romance.

Overall, great job! Keep up the good work!

Hiya, Hope here! First off i wana say great job! I really like this, as far as the review goes, I don't normally review short form so i'm kinda at loss what to do here but lets go!

the formatting and spelling all looks good, there is something incredibly somber about Eliote, and i'm catching a hint of resignation there as well. It seems like that elfie and Eliote were incredibly close, based on how E wants to be buried in the place they first met (or maybe its just a very nice place idk) I like the inclusion of more rare plants, it makes it feel less off the cuff. The cover art is quite nice as well. Its a sweet little story, um. As far as advice...
I can't really think of too much, the only thing is that the name of the elf isn't included in the story, which was probably a stylistic choice so... yeah thats all i got. Bye!
