BLACK PETALS
So, one day you will wither away,
Such that you are fragile like dust.
You that have made my heart sway,
To the songs of love and lust.
How can I repay my debt to you,
When soon your wrinkles will cease to be.
And that none of the others matter, they are all new.
Because you are the only compassion to me.
Your black petals were once red or pink,
Like a woman in the season of love;
But now you fall to the ground
As do dust in the sky above.
I too have your dirge
To sing; when memories are open wounds;
As once your colour filled me with an urge,
While their memories profound (me).
Thus it ends the romance of black petals.
Now, though your dead thorns prick;
Bleed me and are so fatal,
As the clocks in the distance tick,
And yet the dead fragrances linger
Till long past time, when time ceases.
You are the ashes now, you are now cinder
Yet your touch is the one that pleases.
