Hello.
I don't think we've met before,
but my heart urges me
to speak my mind.
[Do I love you?]
There is a certain look
your eyes cast in my direction,
even if I'm not really sure
it's meant for me.
[I think I do.]
Whenever I dare a glance,
I don't think that I can handle the
yearning for you in my mind.
Another moment in my thoughts and
the last of my sense drains away.
I can't bring myself to the truth.
[Do you love me?]
Sometimes I question if it's
even worth the effort
to believe.
There isn't a strong reason to love
which isn't void
because of me.
[You don't.
But I thought you knew me.]
I've met you before,
even if you are sure
we are complete strangers.
I've laughed at your jokes
that weren't even there,
and my heart lept at the thought that
we would even speak.
[There is nothing between us.]
Once the last day is here,
and I can only say a few words,
I don't know if
"Good Bye"
is really the way
you want to remember me
even if you are positive
we have never met.

Wow, this poem is relatable on a whole lot of levels. I really enjoyed it, even though I can't really say if everything is correct since I'm not a poetry expert whatsoever. Still, this has a special place in my heart. Everyone has or will have gone through this phase eventually, so your words ring true in every respect. Thanks for writing this!
I'm not usually into poetry, but you are now one of 3 poets on yws I like. Good job keep up the good work.
ironically the other two poets on here I like have already commented on this.
it's really very nice and beautiful.i like it.
keep writing.........
Well done for not being good at reviewing poetry, @Wolfare1 That was quite good. I think though, you should change something. Let's see if I can explain this XD So, overall you poem was good, but I thought it could be better. I think it needs more emotion. I noticed that your lines go: 3, 4, 6, 6, 7, 8. If you somehow managed to get a better structure out of this like say, 3456789.. lines then it would add another element to this piece. Or you could do something else, but my point is that you should rearrange the structure. I also believe this sense of structure would add to the simplistic element of this poem. Next, I think instead of
it should be more like However, these are just suggestions. I love the idea you had to put those thoughts in brackets, it was brilliant! If I could possible add anything else I'd say to try and add more emotion into it and completely hook your readers. Little things like when your heart flutters you hesitate, so add ... or .. after soft phrases with a greater meaning behind them. To translate my thoughts, I'm saying that some of the work and the way you read it in your head are not completely shown on this poem. The way you could phrase this by breaking off certain sentences will really add something else to your work and make it even better. Well done, my friend! Hope I helpedWhat did I just read?
DINA! Stop liking that senior dude. K? Cause this is getting too much >,< You cna control your feelings.
Katya. It's just a poem, goodness. I had inspiration and I wrote it. :/
Just saying...
In all seriousness, I'm over him. I've just thought about how I felt in that time. It's alright <3
GOOD
"Hello.
I don't think we've met before, "
"I've met you before"
CONFLICT HERE
It's a part of the poem, genius. The progression as the tone changes?
Fine.
Also, don't commit suicide
Once the last day is here,
and I can only say a few words,
I don't know if
"Good Bye"
is really the way
you want to remember me"
that part could seem kinda like that. you might want to elaborate so its not thought of as suicide. thats what first came to my mind there
(not a review though, just a comment)
also a quote of advise
"better to die standing to have lived on your knees"
Not to promote dieing, but die standing=dont say anything, live on your knees=not telling them and the problem staying unresolved. just saying its bad to live like that kinda.
just, ya' know, speaking my mind
(If you find anything about those offensive or rude, i blame my ADHD)
WHOOPS, meant "die standing= saying something and problem being resolved"
I'm not sure how to do all of the fancy work where you can bold and quote things within a review, so this will have to do haha

I must say that I absolutely adored this entire section, especially the first two lines of the stanza below.
"I've laughed at your jokes
that weren't even there,
and my heart lept at the thought that
we would even speak."
You beautifully capture a lovesick girl who laughs at anything their crush says, whether they were trying to be funny or not. I love it!
Also, I love the matter-of-fact, straightforward tone in these brackets:
"[There is nothing between us.]"
The only criticism I might have is that the third line in the third stanza doesn't quite flow as nicely as the rest of your poem, but that is also just my opinion.
Nice work!
This is really sad

I personally spent two years of my life with a massive crush on a friend who never thought of me in that way. Granted, it's not as major as what happened in your poem, but it's a hard thing to go through. I think you captured the emotion of that event, the unrequited love, really well.
Your poem flowed really well and was enjoyable to read. The fact that it was quite plain stylistically, without the flowery language some poems have, felt quite natural considering the topic. For me, personally, it felt a lot more emotional and it provoked more feelings as it felt a lot more raw, like how someone would actually speak.
This was a beautifully written, quite emotional piece and I'm definitely interested to see what else you've written.
wow.. that was a great poem smooth flowing and it appeals to the reader. i like the story like set up and the work in the [] expressing yous thoughts is quite skilled. i think i would like to use them in my poems too sometime.
however i have some points to remark-
first of all you could do better with the ending, why say good bye- just make yous thoughts worth it and give it a romantic end rather than a half confused , half tragic one.
nest i think the poem is really sweet but i miss some substance, perhaps you can include some conversations in direct speech, perhaps include her uneasiness when you simply stare at her and some ridiculous incidents that love drove you into.
overall the poem is really sweet to read and please let me know if you make any changes.

Thanks for the review ^^ Some of the reason there isn't that much 'extra thoughts' or interaction is because there is none. The narrator merely spent their time wishing and wanting to. (And the ending the ending is uncertain because, well, the narrator doesn't know, because all they said is goodbye.)
Hey Wolfare1,
Great poem! I love the way you included the parenthesis. It adds another level of insight into the person this is about. I feel like many can relate with this too because although it does say I love you it could be male or female and it a love idea that anyone could feel. I also think it has a strong literary element where a lot it left up to the reader to figure out yet the reader isn't lost. Anyway overall I really liked it. And I really like your writing style, it is unique.

I'm still fangirling over this. Just wanted to let you know.
It's a good poem that's easily loved. Of course you are bubbles.
Hello CapitalMonday here for a review. i like to begin with how this kinda reminds me of a song since the stanzas in the brackets are like the chorus (in a sense) also how people could relate to this poem since when when we meet someone, we think that this friendship could last but until we leave we may never see them again.
Nitpick(s):
I've met you before/even if you are sure/we are complete strangers these lines seem to confuse me (just a little). Since when you meet someone, sure they are stranger that you don't know and then that friendship blossoms into something more. (Sorry for rambling)
Overall, this poem is quite great/well-written and uses a good tone to this poem. Also how the message of this poem could be "is good-bye really a good-bye?" I could relate to this poem since i met this guy at my old state and we talked and we would walk home together. One day, my mum said that we would be moving 2 weeks and i was like we can't.
1 week later, i had told my best friend that i would be leaving and he wasn't sure who i was. I was like its me, your best friend. He just looked at me and walked back inside.
I have felt horrible ever since then but this poem reminds me of that (Sorry for rambling about this poem, just my way of saying how well-written it is)
Farewell,
CapitalMonday
Those specific lines you pointed out aren't meant in the literal sense. While the two have met before, the other refuses to acknowledge the narrator's existence. Thanks for the review.
Oh okay.. You are welcome.
