That Particular Juicy Fruit I Crave About Every Boring Morning

E - Everyone

In Collection of my literary works

If it were up to me

I’d grow an apple tree

For you and me

We’d sit by the grasses

And care less for the masses

We’d color our world

With the many shades of red

Eden’s newfound bed

Who would’ve known?

Look how fast the tree has grown

I thought I’d find you in this spot

I think our hearts pulled a knot

Apple of my eye

I’d wait for you on this tree stump

Til’ the day I die

Hey, so im gonna review and I haven't been on in a while so please mind my rusty words :3

First, this is a really pretty poem for one so short! It has detail, very skimpy but just the right amount for something like this so it doesn't make it unnecessarily long and pointless ya know?? Also, i really don't read happier poems often so it's a new thing to see one like this that I actually enjoy. I'm into the darker reads, and so seeing something happier and a bit lighter is a new feeling that I find hard to find :)

You use a good sense of imagery and I like the rhyme scheme. It seems your experimenting but not so it is cheesy and something used too often but you added a sense of...hm...sparkle? Magic? I dont know how to word it but you made a poem with a simple rhyme scheme that wasn't so simple in itself. That sounds bad cause I'm bad at explaining things :3

I don't really see a fault in here, but I'm not very good at catching grammar mistakes or spelling errors, but it all seems to flow just fine to me :)

Keep writing, an experimenting. You seem to do both very well :)

This is BEAUTIFUL.

And hey, I see you've been experimenting with rhymes :) Fun, eh? Love the word play and the fact that you had a consistent theme; you definitely gave the classic expression "apple of my eye" some life. Now, I don't know if i got the right interpretation but I love the sullen imagery towards the end - the shift from the tree's growth towards alluding to lost love by speaking of a stump in it's place.

I love these lines:

We’d color our world

With the many shades of red

and

I think our hearts pulled a knot

:) May i share the lines at twitter and perhaps the whole poem on facebook? :)

Hi sis. :)
I'm glad you liked it.
Sure go ahead, spread it all over the web haha

Hey there! How are you, today? Purple here to give you a review! Let's get started :)
First of all, welcome to YWS!! If I'm not mistaken I think you've already reviewed one of my pieces so I might as well return the favor.
This is a very heartwarming poem and was a joy to read. I loved how I could easily picture everything in my mind. Just a few suggestions/comments I have about this. I noticed the clear want to have a rhyme scheme, but it seems a bit uneven. You start off as AAA, then it evolves into no type of pattern BB, C, DD, EE, FF, GHG. I would suggest making some solid kind of pattern to help it flow smoothly.
Also, with the line "And care less for the masses" it should work but it might help to change it to "Without a care for the masses" but it's nothing major. Have a good day!
