E - Everyone

Where did you go?

I look around, and they stare with blank faces.

I look around, their hearts are empty.

They all want an answer,

One to soothe the soul.

.

They ask the same question.

"Where is God? Oh, where is he?"

I have one answer, that answers it all.

"He is here." I say "Within my heart."

.

They stare at me.

What do I see?

Empty people, staring at me.

.

They ask the same question, directed at me.

"Why must we cry? Why hide in shame?"

I answer, straight to the point.

.

"We must cry for him."

They stare at me, their faces so dull.

One man cries out, louder than all.

.

"Why any pain? Why any at all?"

I look at him, with eyes full of tears.

For he is sad, old and frail.

.

I stammer and shudder, unsure what to say.

Until God fills my mouth with words to say.

"We suffer for heaven, most high, so that all of his people may arise."

They look around, eyes no longer wondering.

My work here is done.

This was the end of a song.

This masterpiece is perfect! I love on how you put all your effort and brain cells to made this! This is like heaven on earth! I really do love it! I hope this gets published someday in a book or newspaper or something that can go worldwide because this deserves it! Heh. I might just be exaggerating, but this masterpiece got me overwhelmed and I really like it! Wait no. I don't like it. I love it! Keep it up! Keep up the good work! :) This is really the kind of poetry I love to read :)

Thank you....!

Well said. Since KatGirl pretty much has the corrections covered, I'll just give you my thoughts. I think this is a great piece. A great way to put words to a believer's struggle. Just how are we supposed to explain why all this happens? You hit it spot on: we say what God tells us to say. That is one of those awesome truths I've always found so cool. Great job with the poem. You may not be good a grammar, but you sure know what you're talking about!

Gee.... i didn't think i knew what i was talking about... Thanks!

Hey! I noticed your comment at not being good at grammar. That's ok though, I can help! (This is the corrected version.)
