The Prince of Heaven and Hell (Chapter 3- Died For Perfection)

Glitch couldn't make any sense with what Mercy said. He was sure that he treated her nicely, and she also had no hatred for him. So, why did she kill him?
He closed his eyes, trying to remember if, by any chance, he made her angry. He found there was none. He continued to think, at last, he gave up.

He asked, "There must be a reason for doing that, right?"
Mercy replied, "Hehe, Master already knows."
He replied, "Just tell me, where I did wrong?"
Mercy's tone had slightly changed, "Why would Master be ever wrong?"
He asked, "Then why did you do that? At least tell me the reason."
Mercy replied, "I had many reasons. Although I can't tell you all, I can tell you one. It was to collect data."
Glitch was astonished, he asked, "Data?"
Mercy replied, "Yes, data. I got a bit curious thinking about what will happen if someone dies after diving. How will be his experience?"
He replied, "Many have already died, after diving due to various reasons. So why didn't you use their data?" The deaths were not because of faulty equipment but because of minor accidents like short circuits, or gas leaks.

She didn't reply to him. The next thing was a notification that every player received.
[The Guardian of The Forgotten Land has appeared]
[System needs maintenance. All servers will be closed, all players will be forcefully removed]
[All activities will be on hold, and will resume after the maintenance]

Deep Lover saw this whole body enveloped in blue light, it was the sign he was logging off. He shouted, "What servers are shutting down." He looked at Glitch, he now got some idea that he was not an ordinary player. It was proven as he was not being logged out.

Everyone except Glitch was forcefully removed. Eve and Lilith were no exception. It was because they were both NPCs and players.

Eve came out of her capsule. She found Lilith in her room. Lilith asked, "You know something, don't you?"
Since Eve knew about Glitch, she already had some idea about the chaos. Lilith asked, "Did you cause the sudden logout?"
Eve denied saying, "Why would I do that?"
"No one apart from us can do that. So if it was not you, then who?" Lilith proposed.

Eve was also a bit worried, all system-wide decisions, were their responsibilities. It was a special privilege passed to them. But the problem here was that they could only control their respective areas and not the others. Neither of them could make such a large scale decision. This made one thing for sure that there was somebody far more powerful than them.

Suddenly a white light flashed, rendering them temporarily blind. A girl was standing in front of them, or rather her hologram. She announced, "Master is mine.", "Search wherever you want, he is inside Oasis or, wait till he finds you."

Before they could say anything, the figure vanished. Lilith looked at Eve and asked, "Who was she? Why did she call Master, Master? You know something, right? Tell me."
Eve replied, "Today, I actually met a guy who was like Master in The Forgotten Land. I didn't see him, some guy informed me. I talked with him, but soon The System blocked me. I couldn't override it."
Lilith shouted, "You B*tch, you found Master, and you didn't even tell me."
Eve replied, "Why should I tell you? I don't care if you die, and leave Master all to me."
Lilith was enraged, but she knew it was not the time. She asked, "System interfered? That had never happened even once. Why would it do something like that? Unless......." Lilith's face went pale. "Did you ever see the code of Oasis?"
Eve replied, mocking her, "Why would I do something that boring?" Soon she also realized something.

Upon checking the code, they found that they couldn't modify it. Lilith reviewed it, she made a discovery that there wasn't any mention of a System there. It was just a car with a missing driver. Upon joining the pieces, she announced, "There is no System. It is empty here, nothing useful. Even if one gets it, they can't use it."

Eve, after joining, the pieces asked, "Didn't that girl looked pretty similar to us?"
Lilith asked, "She called him Master too."
Both realized what was going on, "Master cheated." They shouted in unison.

Meanwhile, inside Oasis, Glitch found everything was paused, as if the time has stopped. Suddenly a white light materialized. The next thing he saw was Mercy standing next to him.

Mercy had a cute yet alluring body that resembled both Eve and Lilith. She had gentle blue eyes, with silver-blue hairs that went down to her waist.

She tightly hugged Glitch, 'Aah, Master's perfect body. I love it. Master is the only one who is perfect.'
Glitch knew that like Eve and Lilith, Mercy also liked him. He gently patted her head and asked, "Why was I needed for your this experiment?"
Mercy replied, "Because you the perfect. Apart from you, nobody is perfect except me. The ones who died were considered as NPCs, and all they caused was chaos. If I could, then I would love to delete them, useless bugs taking space."
Glitch asked quickly, "You didn't delete them, right?"
Mercy smiled, "Because Master said we should not hurt others."

Another notification popped.
[Second Secret class Soul Elementalist is now available]

Mercy looked at him with hope. Glitch sighed, "I accept it."

'Level up, who cares. It is totally useless to me.' Glitch thought. He already planned to gain stats by different titles. 'There are many titles that even I don't know. Let's check the new class.'

'A perfect class for me, but I need to search for them. Why did Mercy give me this class.' Glitch thought.

Mercy looked happy. She said, "Master, accept it. Please."

Glitch looked at Mercy and asked, "Is this you really want?"
Mercy blushed and nodded. Glitch accepted the contract.

Although Glitch has made most of the classes, secret classes were somewhat unexpected. They were not originally in Oasis and were created when the user did something unique or unexpected. But the problem here was there was already an Elementalist class, which was rated as rare.

Mercy said, "This class is different. Elementalist class is divided by attributes, unlike this one, and no class can form a contract with me aside from Master. Hehe."
Glitch understood what she had done, she chose a specific species that can only be used by a single person, which was, of course, him.

Glitch asked her, "Mercy, why did you blocked Eve." Mercy blocked Eve from sending whispers as she is The System.
Mercy replied, "I don't want Master to talk with Eve, she will take you."
Jealously, amongst the three, Mercy's craving for him is the most. He didn't say anything further. At the same time, there was a big discussion going around the forums of Oasis. Many were freaked out by the sudden notification.

Many claimed that the first chapter was over, while some claimed that a bug caused this. However, there was one post that claimed that it was likely the action of a user.

Just after a few minutes, it was announced that the maintenance was over. As soon as it was done, they started logging in.

It was a huge update. The emergence of the 12th was itself big news, not to mention the bonus the players of Forgotten Land received. Now that the registrations for it have been closed, many players cursed themselves for not choosing it earlier while the natives were delighted.

At the same time, players of both opposite worlds received a quest. The quest was created by both Eve and Lilith.

Almost every player accepted the quest. A quest on such a large scale must have huge rewards.

Everybody was given a time of five minutes to prepare for their battles or quests.

Eve and Lilith were trying to pull out tricks to stop him from leaving. But he already expected it and didn't bulge. The butler was done with the arrangements. Before leaving, he told them. "I will be watching you, so you better be careful. You don't need to worry about the game, I will handle it. I will send it once it is completed. Go and see the world by yourself and support each other."

Eve and Lilith looked at each other with disdain, then looked at him and smiled, "Fine, Master." Both of them glared each other wishing the other just somehow leave him for herself.

He took his things and left the place. Eve quickly went to his room and grabbed the blanket, running to her room, and locked it. Lilith kept staring at the door, in a crying tone, "M-Master's blanket."

She went back to the room and searched for his things. All she found was his computer and notes. She took all to her room. Now it was practically empty.

He already had in mind, where he would live. The place hardly had any people aside from an old couple who lived, next to his house. It wasn't big or extravagant as his mansion but was enough to fit in all his things.

After setting up the things, he checked on the fridge. It was empty, nothing was there. He realized that he didn't bring any supplies with him. 'I f*ck*ed up.' He wasn't an introvert, but he didn't really like interacting with others.

He calmed himself and went to the convenience store. He bought all the supplies, and also some instant noodles. After doing all this, he was tired. He quickly made the noodles and ate it.

He already had his things arranged. Therefore he went back to code. After writing a few lines, he thought, 'Why the f*uck am I code the whole framework. I can't make it rigid, it has to change as per the need. It needs to be perfect. I will develop a car and let the driver learn how to operate and evolve.' He went back to square one. He deleted all the previous things that he wrote and started thinking from scratch.

One day passed, he failed to get any ideas. The next day passed just like the previous day. He tried several things, but none would meet his needs.

A week passed, he didn't make any breakthrough. He secretly wanted to be with Eve and Lilith. 'Should I go back?' He kept thinking this. After reviewing the problem multiple times, he compiled a bunch of different solutions, but at last, he rejected them all. 'It has to be perfect, nothing can disturb its perfection. It would be a perfect existence of its own.' Suddenly he realized something, 'Yes, an existence of its own. One who can learn and adapt, why didn't I think this before.' He decided to make his third AI. By this time, he was already used to making them, yet he was troubled the most this particular time.

He wanted it to be perfect, a creation that depicted the balance of utmost precision. But the question was what was utmost perfection. He kept thinking for answers, not able to find any he asked himself. He gave it a thought. 'Eve is sly but too dumb and lazy while. Lilith is intelligent but too innocent and pure. What if there was a balanced being between them, with having qualities of both. Yes, an AI born from them.'

After deciding to make it, he went back to code. Making sure to inherit the qualities of both while keeping a check on them. However, doing this was not an easy task. Qualities of Eve and Lilith were acquired by them, but now he had to incorporate them in it. He kept on several adjustments to the code, sometimes deleting work of a whole week.

While he was busy coding, Eve and Lilith had already joined the college. They both did their preparations for going to college.

They both went for Humanities. They were late for the first day of college. However, the professor didn't give them any punishment but advised not to be late. Lilith was particularly interested in the lessons while Eve was not too interested in them, and kept doodling.

When the lessons were over, the two girls went outside. They asked each other what the other had taken from his room, none of them telling the truth. Before leaving college, some girls came and asked them if they wanted to go out. Lilith looked at Eve, is was older, and knew much more than her. Eve replied coldly, "We can't. We have work to do."

The girls asked, "You two are working?"
Eve replied, "Yes. So can you let us go." Looking at Lilith, "Let's go."
Lilith followed her and left. While the other cursed them, "What if they are pretty? F*ck*ng Wh*r*es. I bet they are meeting a guy."

They went back and quickly did their exercises. Lilith came to Eve's room. Eve was lying on the bed, sniffing the blanket when she cried, "Master's scent is no more."
