In The Ashes

In Songs and poems.

Laying in the ashes,

Of my own ruins.

Tortured by these memories,

Haunted by the illusions.

Lost in the darkness

Of my mind.

I'm too fallen,

For you to find.

But your hands

Reach out to me.

I stand from the debris,

The darkness clears and I can see.

You hold out your arms

And pull me closer to you.

In the arms of my Savior

I feel new.

I just wanted to say, I absolutely loved this!!! It has a depth/meaning that even those who don't share a religion will understand, but those who do may appreciate this even more. There isn't anything I saw that needs to be changed, so I can't really review it... Good job!!

This poem has a very true nd obvious meaning. I can tell that either you or someone close to you is going through this. Glad you can vent it out with poetry.

I went through a hard time a while back and I reflected on it and well...this poem came out of it.

That's awesome! I can really connect to this - I've got a past I really don't like revisiting but I find myself reliving every sleepless night anyways. I can't really review this... Good job!

LILAPURPS!!!

I love this! I don't get why you have no reviews yet. We all have moments of weakness, moments when we feel everything is crashing down, and I'm happy to read it from a Christian's point of view. You've done a great job. We should write these kind of things more often. Great job!
