Hi guys, before you read, I just want to say that I haven't revised my work yet so I want to hear all your nitpicks. The more hurtful reviews, the better!
Chapter 3
Chelsea’s heart was pounding as the kidnapper puts her and Andrea on the cold, hard ground. He ties up her hands and feet before putting a really sticky duct tape on her mouth. She tried to scream but it just sounded as if she was mumbling. Finally, Chelsea gave up and took a quick glance at Andrea who kept wiggling so that the kidnapper doesn’t put her in the run-downed truck, but unfortunately she failed and was dragged in the back seat. Chelsea was put in the back seat as well and then the kidnapper went back the driver seat and started driving on a bumpy road.
After about a thirty minute drive, the truck stopped at what looked like an abandoned house. The wood was coming off and it looked like mold was growing on it. The house looked really repulsive! The kidnapper took Chelsea and Andrea out of the car and dragged them into the house. Waiting for them, there were two men wearing black suits sitting on an old, green couch.
“I see you brought some girls over” The man with blond hair said.
“Yes, bring them to The Room.” The kidnapper replied.
Chelsea wondered what “The Room” was but she knew that it was going to be a place where she was going to have fun, and before she can have another thought one of the men in the black suits grabbed Chelsea and carried her upstairs. Chelsea was scared to death but she stood still since the man could drop her at any time.
When they got to the door, the man dropped Chelsea in a small room. The room had 5 bunk beds and it was a little decorated. What are the decorations for? So we can feel welcomed in a house with kidnappers in it? Thanks, I feel so reassured. Chelsea looked around the room a little more and saw a few teens not much older than her. Obviously they looked petrified, but one of them was shaking the window as if it was going to break off.
Suddenly the kidnapper came in the room with Andrea and opened his mouth to start talking.
“Listen up kids. We have two new girls here and I expect you to make their stay miserable.”
As if I wasn’t miserable enough in this disgusting room.
“To refresh your little minds I just want to say that if you ever try to escape. We’ll find you. Theo, Bruce and I, Derek have our ways. Now go do something useful.”
At that last word, Derek and his minions left the room and locked the door. Chelsea looked around the room to look for Andrea, and saw her being untied by a bunch of teens. That nice gesture made Chelsea think that she won’t be completely unhappy in this place. After a few minutes, both Chelsea and Andrea were untied and placed in a corner to talk.
“We need to get out of here” Chelsea said.
“How are we going to do that? You are incapable of doing anything. It’s your fault that we are here in here in the first place.” Andrea retorted.
“I beg to differ. You’re the one who went back inside to give a note to a grandma and left me there by myself!”
“She was very kind to let me stay inside her house for the night. I had to give her note since she was so nice, but I guess you don’t know the definition of the word nice because she was a nicer person then you’ll ever be.”
And with that, Andrea got and went to go talk with one of the other girls. Andrea's harsh words made Chelsea feel bad inside since she was trying so hard to get along with her, but all she did is break them more appart. Chelsea didn’t really have to put an effort to make friends since she’s so popular. She didn’t know how much making friends is so frustrating.
The rest of the day, Chelsea tried to avoid Andrea which was hard since they’re in the same room. There was not much to do so Chelsea just did braids on some of the girls while she was being glared by Andrea. Even when I do nothing wrong, she’s mad at me. Why is getting to know her so complicated?
The next day Bruce came into the room with another boy. He had curly brown hair, hazel eyes, and was very tall. Chelsea found him kind of cute even if he had lots of scars on his arms. Her first reflex was to go help him, but she held in the urge since Bruce was still there. When he left, Chelsea was surprise that nobody rushed to go help him like they did with Andrea and herself. Chelsea asked Isabelle, a girl she became friends with, the reason.
“You mean Troy. He escapes every now and then and always gets put back in here. I don’t even know why he even bothers to escape when he knows that the kidnappers are going to find him again.” Isabelle said.
“Oh okay. But how do you think that they know exactly where he’s going.” Chelsea asked.
“I don’t know. But it’s kind of like he puts some sort of tracking chip in us.”
“Well, maybe he does.”
“Maybe...”
Chelsea rushed over to Troy after her conversation to untie him. She looked deeply into his eyes and smiled. Troy smiled too, and then thanked her. Chelsea felt herself blush and she didn't want Troy to see it, therefore she started walking to go sit on her bed, but Troy grabbed her arm. He pulled Chelsea close to his body and stared at her intensely. Chelsea was soothed by Troy’s minty sent and his breath that smelled like watermelon. She was so caught up in his charm that she didn’t even realize that everybody's eyes were looking at them. When she looked up, she saw all eyes locked on her so she let go of Troy. She blushed again and this time it was of embarrassment. Chelsea looked down as she went into the bathroom to silently cry.
After a while, somebody knocked on the room and asked her if she’s alright. Chelsea quickly realized that it was Andrea’s tone and opened the door. She found Andrea holding two old-fashioned pajamas that Derek gave all of us. Andrea tossed one to Chelsea and entered the bathroom. The girls changed in their pajamas in complete silence. When Chelsea was about to leave, Andrea stood in front in front of the door.
“What?” Chelsea said in an annoyed tone.
“No need to get all worked up. I just want to talk privately.”
“Aren’t you the one who always refuses to talk to me?”
“Yeah, but I need to tell you something.”
“About?”
“You’re going to sleep on the floor tonight.”
“What! Why?”
“Well we talked about it and since there isn't enough beds for all of us and Troy just came here, we thought it was supposed to be you who should sleep on the floor.”
“But, I’m going to be uncomfortable. Do you really want me to have a sore back?”
“Yes.”
“You are so mean!”
And with that, Chelsea rushed out of the bathroom in anger. She swallowed her saliva before setting herself up on the hard floor. I really hate Andrea right now. Chelsea murmurmed in her sleep.
In the morning, Chelsea felt something really weird on her neck. It was like something went into her skin. She asked Andrea to look at it and she agreed, saying that her neck also hurts. Andrea put her warm hands on Chelsea’s neck and took out something particularly interesting. It was in cylinder shape and had weird colors to it. Chelsea had no idea what it was but Andrea yelled out:
“It’s a GPS tracking microchip! This is what they use to catch us when we escape. Without this, they can’t track us down.”
“Wow. How can they do such a thing?”
“Well let’s stop yapping and get these things out of everybody’s necks. Start with mine.”
Chelsea started taking out all the microchips from everybody’s necks, and when she finished she screamed of joy.
“Hurray! We don’t need to stay in this prison anymore!” Chelsea exclaimed.
“Um, were still stuck here.” Andrea reminded Chelsea.
“Oh yeah…”
Chelsea let herself drop dramatically on a bed and starred at the ceiling. For a brief second, she taught about her family and wished she was tanning on the beach next to their house in Sydney.
“Have any ideas of how to escape? You’re the smart one.” Isabelle said, facing Andrea.
“Well, when everybody’s sleeping, we should sneak out. It’s that simple.” Andrea replied.
“Aren’t there any secret lasers or alarms anywhere?” Chelsea said, jumping in the conversation.
“We’ll have enough time to escape. Trust me.”
And then Andrea clapped her hands twice to get everybody’s attention before saying:
“Pack your things guys. We’re busting out of this jail.”
Time went very slow and everybody just wanted nightfall to be there. Everyone was so excited that we’ll be finally free especially Chelsea. If she ever gets back home, she wants to call her parents first things to arrange a flight to go to Sydney. Finally when everybody was sleeping, Andrea called everyone to the door and explained them once more about the escape plan.
“Do not use the stairs since they make lots of noise, slide down the railing instead and go back through the back door. From there we’ll all stick together and try to find our way back to the closest city or run for our lives. Got it?”
Everybody nodded and we quietly unlocked the door of their room, with a key that they stole from Bruce's pants. Chelsea thought a kidnapper would at least put an alarm on the door but no, he didn't. She's not that intellectual, but at least she's smarter than him. Chelsea was so nervous and with every step she took, her nevers increased. She slid down the staircase railing quietly as told and tiptoed to the door. When everybody was there, Andrea counted to three before opening the back door. Chelsea took a step outside and breathed the cold air. It never felt so good and refreshing. She danced around in the snow a little and all of sudden, she heard voice.
“Hey! You girly, where do you think you’re going?”
The voice sounded very familiar. Chelsea turned around slowly, and saw the kidnapper right at the door.

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
Hey there. Hopefully you're not sick of me yet! Your author's note made laugh, but you definitely have the right attitude! The more criticism you get, the better you'll become.
I would recommend changing "as if" to "like", it readers better.Let's get to those nitpicks.
I think you could flesh this out a little more. What are they thinking and feel during the drive? Also, I want to know...*drumroll please* what it looks like! But seriously, what does it look like. Is it empty, dark, are there windows? Are there weird objects, and how does this surrounding impact what they're thinking and feeling?
Period after over.
Period after here.
This is a run of sentence. You need a period after much.
I don't have a nitpick about this, I just wanted to say it made me laugh
nerves, not nevers
You switched to first person with we, it should be they.
I see two options for you here, either make this two separate sentences or change the and to when, otherwise it reads weird.
Do you mean to use girly, or it is girl?
Things I loved:
1. The interaction between all the characters. You had a good mix of interesting and serious and it made for a very nice read. I like Isabelle and Troy, I hope we see more of them.
2. Again with the clifhangers! You're killing me!(In, you know, a good way)
Things that could be improved:
(Again, it's all stuff I've mentioned before, which is good, means you're not making a ton of mistakes)
1. Overuse of suddenlys
2. The word feel, remember it doesn't really add anything to the story
3. Changing tenses once again, you switch from past to present in this chapter when it all needs to be the same.
-Note: I meant to mention the tense changing thing on chapter two but forgot, so yeah, you also do this in chapter two.
Still though, you've got nice progression and fun characters, keep up the good work. And please let me know if you have any questions xD.
Also, feel free to message me when the next chapter is up.
Hey, RagingLive here!
Just want you to know that I'm a big fan of mystery/suspense but really not one to nitpick, so I'll just give it my best!
First off, I don't think that we need to know that it was a "really sticky duct tape". I think that saying "duct tape" would be enough because everyone knows how sticky it is. It also sound very wordy and distracts from the main drama.
"She tried to scream but it just sounded as if she was mumbling" might be better referenced as something more dramatic, such as "Her suppressed screams fell as a dull whimpering"
"After about a thirty minute drive, the truck stopped at what looked like an abandoned house. The wood was coming off and it looked like mold was growing on it. The house looked really repulsive!" Here I think that the sentence about its repulsiveness might be best placed before the description of the house.
This as very exciting and could be even more so with spiffed up dialogue and more details such as descriptions of rooms, people and what they are wearing.
The couch is green but what texture is it? Does it look like it's from the 1980's?
What type of decorations are in the room?
Also, how did they swipe the key from Bruce's pants? Was there a more exciting way they could have escaped?
I hope I didn't rub against the grain to much, because I really enjoyed it. Keep writing!
Hey Kim!
SnazzyPencil here to give you another review! It's a good thing that you asked the readers for lots of nitpicks in this story, criticism does make you a better writer after all! So, your beginning was just a little bit dull. Maybe you could add more to when they are in the van, maybe what Chelsea is thinking, or something like that.
Also, I don't think the kidnapper and his minions (I love how you put the word minions in you story!) would say their names, normally, in a book with a bad guy in it, him/her and his or her minions are dumb, and they accidentally say their names, because if they do, they might think that if they escape, that the girls would go and tell the police, but since you did(which is fine), it is a good thing that you didn't mention their last names.
Another tip is that when writing a story, always think of "What If's". Sometimes in a story, it is good to have something that is not quite so obvious, like in the end, when The kidnapper sees Chelsea and the girls escaping.
I really like the part when they are all talking, and trying to figure out a way to escape! Especially Chelsea's line! "Aren't there any secret lasers, or alarms anywhere?"
One more thing, I don't know a lot about tracking devices, because, well, I haven't had one implanted in my neck before XD, but I don't think that they would be that easy to take out.
Overall, nice chapter! Keep writing!
Thanks for the review once more. I always love improving my writing.
