OK everyone here's part of chapter three. I'm not quite sure about it so any advice is greatly appreciated!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as Kali and I got upstairs in the vicinity of my room, we changed out of our elegant, uncomfortable, stuffy dresses and just threw on sweats and a t-shirt. My room is a suite I guess you’d call it but I made sure it wasn’t decorated too fancy and I didn’t want gold in my room at all. It almost resembled my old room in Great Falls, South Carolina, only about a thousand times bigger.
“Ahhh,” I breathed a sigh of relief, “Finally, I can breath!”
“Ha ha ha, I know. So, are we going to call Mary or not?” she asked me impatiently.
“I’m going, I’m going. Jeez, hold your horses!” I went over to my white nightstand and grabbed my cell phone off of it and went to sit on my canopy bed. I dialed the number, put it on speakerphone than motioned for Kali to come sit with me.
Ring… Ring… Ring… Ri..
“Hellooo?” a singsong voice answered the phone mid-ring.
“Hey Mary!” I said happily.
“Hey Jules!” She responded cheerfully.
“Hey, I thought I was the only one who called you Jules!” Kali said in a playfully jealous voice. I just sat there and laughed a little.
“Kali? Is that you?” Mary questioned.
“Yup, in the flesh,” she replied.
“Hold on guys, I’m going to put you on speaker because there’s someone here who would also like to talk,” She said while I heard a muffled voice coming form the background.
“Hey guys!” a voice said into the phone.
“Lauren!” I exclaimed happily. She was my only other friend here in Cedonia who new I was a princess.
“Hey Julie, hey Kali,” she addressed us.
“So what are you two up to?” I asked.
“Not much actually. My original plans got cancelled so I called Lauren and we decided to just hang out,” Mary told us, “How about you guys? Wait, aren’t you supposed to be at a ball?”
“Well it’s a long story,” I said
“OK well…” Kali started but I cut her off with a sideways glance. “Sorry, sorry, you can tell the story. Jeez,” she said.
“Would one of you just please tell us?” Lauren asked impatiently.
“How would you guys feel about coming here and staying the night? Then I could tell you in person which would be so much easier,” I suggested.
“That sounds awesome!” they said and I heard their excited chatter as they were conversing among themselves. We quickly made plans for them to come as soon as they got permission from their parents, which they said yes, and then we would just hang out in my room. As soon as we got off the phone, I went to the palace phone and dialed the guards’ number and told them I had two guests arriving in a few minutes and then to just send them up to my room. While we were waiting, Kali and I snuck down into the kitchen and raided it. We found all kinds of good food which is classified as junk food. We found Doritos, all kinds of chocolate, twizzlers, lots of flavors of ice cream, and as much caffeine as possible! As soon as we gathered all we could hold we made sure the coast was clear before heading quickly back up to my room. As soon as we got through the doors we threw all the food on the bed and then threw a bunch of comfy huge colorful pillows that I had in my room on the floor. Just as Kali and I were finishing setting things up there was a small knock on the door. I raced over to answer it.
“Who is it?” I called out.
“Hurry and open the doors!” The voice on the other side said urgently. I quickly pulled them open and Lauren and Mary tumbled in with all their stuff following them. I burst out laughing.
“What in the world are you guys doing with all that stuff?” I asked while a laugh still played on my lips.
“I don’t know actually,” Lauren said, “But you know me, I need choices!” I just laughed. Lauren had long brown hair and chocolate brown eyes with super long eyelashes that were just gorgeous. Everyone thought so especially her boyfriend Jake. They have been going out for about 5 months now and he makes her so happy, as if she’s walking on air. Lauren was into fashion and always made sure everything was perfect.
“Don’t look at me, all this is hers,” Mary commented while looking around at all the bags with an amused look on her face. I burst out laughing again at the sight of her face. Kali came around the corner at the sound of our laughter and she started laughing which got us all laughing again. We finally stopped laughing and started hauling the bags into the main part of my bedroom. We set them against the wall and then lounged around on the pillow with music blasting from my iPod.
“Oh my gosh, I almost forgot why we came! Story time!” Mary said cheerfully. All of sudden my nerves got to me as they always do before I’m going to say something.
“Uhh… do I have to?” I stuttered, my face turning pinkish.
“If you don’t, I will!” Kali prompted.
“I want to hear this from Juliana, if she doesn’t speak of soon I’m going to have to beat her,” Lauren threatened.
“OK OK, I’m going just give me a minute?” I asked.
