A Gentle Breeze

Glowing clouds drift slowly by,

Like puffs of cotton in the sky,

With rays of light breaking through,

A majestic blue to frame the view,

While a pleasing gust blows softly past.

Below a butterfly sheen,

Splashes color on the scene,

Hunting for flowers among the trees,

Seeking pollen despite the breeze.

An echoing laughter,

Brings charity hereafter,

Adding nobility to the land,

A young child that is grand,

Chasing butterflies in the wind.

As softly, the gentle breeze,

Gradually begins to freeze,

Whispers through the grove of pine,

Calling tenderly, 'this is mine.'

Hey there, Jibber. Subtle here for a review!

May I see I absolutely love this poem? The rhyme, the rhythm, the imagery, the grammar. Everything is perfect here! This is truly beautiful, I just fell into love with how you've described nature here, you've painted an amazing picture by using similes, metaphors and personification. Since, there isn't any mistakes. I will just blabber on about how good this is.

A majestic blue to frame the view,[/quote' -This is such an ingenious and unique way to say the sky!

Oh that completely took my breath away, especially the ending! Thank you for sharing this with us!

This is an amazing poem! I really liked the tone that was used and the wording all together and just the scene that it made in my mind while I was reading it. It is such a well written poem.

Hey Jibber,

I really liked this poem for a number of reasons but the main one is the detail and imagination of this piece. It made me wish to be out in the countryside, where life is beautiful and simple once more. It was very lyrical and flowed well, so when I read it out loud it seemed even better.

Overall, I don't think there was a lot to critique on, so I'll show you my favorite lines;

With rays of light breaking through,

A majestic blue to frame the view,

Anyway, it was a beautiful poem and I can see how you won first place! Keep up the good
work!

I liked this a lot.
The detail is so beautiful! I loved that so much. That is the best thing about poems. The little hints of detail the writer puts in really makes the poem pop.

I love the way you rhymed, but a few times threw me off.

"While a pleasing gust blows softly past. "

"Chasing butterflies in the wind. "

Those two lines had nothing to rhyme with, and it sort of threw me off. A recommendation: If you're going to rhyme in a poem, try your best to make it all rhyme.

But overall I thought you did a beautiful job on the entire thing. The poem make sense and flows together beautifully.

Keep up the amazing work! I can't wait to see more!

This is really great work.

I can picture myself as a little kid, running through the grass trying to catch the butterflies. Your descriptive language is very good and definitely transports the reader to this place.

On top of your great writing style, you have near perfect consistency in the stanzas and lines, and there's not one place where I felt like a line was too long or too short.

I also love that, there at the end, you involved nature as a character as well, giving the breeze a voice. This really wrapped it all up and makes it a solid and very beautiful piece of poetry.

Thank you Jibber!

Does anyone know how to break these things up? I'm not sure how...

I've had the same problem. I learned that if you do it from word and upload it from there, it works out perfectly.
