I used to kiss the flower petals

And I wondered to myself if that was just me;
Listening to the wonderful buzzes from a bee
They watched me cautiously
And it felt like it was just you and me

I used to blow the dandelions like a wish

And I wondered to myself if that was just me;
As they floated across a tree
Swaying just effortlessly
And it felt like it was just you and me

I used to talk to the stars

And I wondered to myself if that was just me;
As they twinkled all free
Whispering their secrets like a key
And it felt like it was just you and me

I used to sing with the birds

And I wondered to myself if that was just me;
As they fluttered about like a roaring sea
Singing the tune as happily as can be
And it felt like it was just you and me

I used to watch you from afar

And I wondered to myself if that was just me;
You talking to everyone so clearly free
And here I am making a plea
And it felt like it was just you and me

And now

Here I am; in your arms

As you hold me close
And this is how it goes
Your cheeks flush like a rose
So now I know that it’s just you and me

~ And that will always be. ~
