I know I might of been a disappointment to you dad but I only quit talking to you to get my life in order. Then i wished you a happy birthday on your birthday about a year ago, we would talk almost every night when you where done with work. About two months later you never replied back to me when I would text you. It really hurt...to sit up all night on my birthday to wait for a Happy Birthday Baby girl, didn't get a card, a text, or you couldn't call my mom to tell her to wish me a Happy Birthday. Now i look back and see it was a bad idea to wish you a Happy Birthday on your birthday. All I every wanted is my biological dad in my life but I guess I wasn't that important to you, to try and start being in my life again. I'm sorry I wasn't the kind of daughter you wanted. I'm sorry i quit talking to you. I'm sorry i wanted to be healthy and to quit cutting myself, popping pills, smoking weed, and to actually respect myself for who I am and being able to deal with the fact that I was abused and that it wasn't my fault that it happened. I'm really sorry for everything I ever did to hurt you and for you to disown me. I guess I just have to move on and just get the fact that you will never be in my life. All I have to say is that I'm not the one missing out anymore you're the one missing out.

Woah...uh, I was gonna review this. But I just like..woah.

First off, I'm sorry to hear about ur relationship with your dad. I guess I could say I've been there...so this really hit home. I'm glad you had the guts to go ahead and publish this. It really takes a strong person to open themselves up like this. But sometimes, that's all we need is to make ourselves vulnerable for a little bit. Just to step back and have a moment of culnerability can work wonders for anyone going through a tough time. I'm truly inspired by your courage here. I hope things work out for you.

Well thank you. It did take a lot of courage to write/type this onto here, but i just came to a point if people are gonna judge me from my past mistakes then oh well thats to bad. its there problem not mine. so thank you so much for your comment it makes me wanna write/type more stories like this
I can relate to you on the matter of this story. I know what it's like to have father problems because I tend to have them with my estranged father. It's tough to barely have a father, but you have to move on and try to make your life as great as you possibly can. In this world, you have to strive to succeed, even if you break a couple of bones, lose a few fingers, or suffer emotional trauma, you must do what you can to fill your life with riches.
Everyone hear at YWS are by your side. We will gladly help you with all your problems.
I love the emotions that're in your story and it fills my heart with grief. I hope you keep on writing. Kman134
thanks and i will be it keeps me stronger each day

Wow. This is just a comment... You are doing the right thing if you are trying to get away from all that. Not having a father has gotta be tough. Just remember that, even though we don't really know you, all of us here at YWS are here for you... Just pm me or whatever if you want to talk.
thanks. its been almost a year now since he was the one who quit talking to me its still hard. even though i have a stepdad who's the first father figure i've ever had in my life really
Its good your stepdad kinda stepped in, but not having your real father around has gotta be tough. Hang in there!

I'm sorry but it was a bit depressing
Hi! I read your short story. I think you have great writing skills. Although, there are some parts that could be corrected. Nothing major. I also think that you're hurt. Physically, most of all. In your mind, you have your father, who basically walked out on you. Talked to you one day, then just decided to stop. I know how you feel. My father wasn't the best, either. I just want you to know that you're not alone. Others can relate to you. So if you ever just need someone to talk to, or to rant to, I'm here. 24/7. So just message me whenever, and I'll message back once I get the chance.
thanks. its just hard to go day by day wishing i had my bio dad in my life but i know it will never happen. He thought i was a school drop out and in to heavy drugs...
Hi. Lucrezia here to review.

This was a very powerful piece. It was short, yet you managed to cover a lot of ground and I feel like I know your situation without even knowing much about it… if that makes sense. Anyway, I guess I'm trying to say that I really, really like this. So much so that I feel bad about having to nitpick it. But I will, anyway.
I noticed some of the "I"s you have in this weren't capitalized. Not a big deal, but you might want to go through and correct that for the sake of it being "properly written."
"Then i wished you a happy birthday on your birthday about a year ago…"
You can drop the "on your birthday" part of that, because the reader will assume you were wishing him a happy birthday on his birthday. Leaving it in makes that sentence sound repetitive.
You should also change, "Now i look back and see it was a bad idea to wish you a Happy Birthday on your birthday" for the same reasons.
Other than those little nitpicks, I couldn't see anything glaringly wrong with this. It's a very emotional piece, and that comes through. The rawness in it was heartfelt and gritty, which I liked. Good work!
Thanks. I'm just not used to my computer doing spell checks and what not like my phone does so sometimes I forget I need to capitalize things
No biggie. I still really enjoyed it, the nitpicks were just a side note.
