Mountains of death they rise and fall,
A hundred stony bastions,
Sheer granite cliffs, and marble, with scrawl,
From all ages and fashions
The plain rises high before my eyes,
To the ground the hill beckons,
With a voice from the past each stone cries,
And screams out their carved captions.
Through a gate one might pass,
On their own or of others actions,
These stone interrupters of pleasant grass,
For some the end while others pray for mansions.
Names and numbers what does it all mean,
Some with crosses, some chevrons,
Family and friends and those who have been,
All here reside in eternal dungeons.
Two country roads cradle this place,
A home to whom it was curtains,
Sadly the necessity is commonplace,
For a plethora of generations.
A quiet cemetery in the country,
Full of ancient lamentations,
The monuments stand eerie, lovely,
And spawn eternal superstitions.

Hi,
This was pretty eerie, right? Do you agreed with me?
And an early reminder: A poem didn't only consisted of hard or shabby words.
Yeah this was the same for your poem but please it isn't wrong for putting them. But be careful because sometimes a word can ruin all the poem.
And there was a major mistake in this poem. YES! A big one.
Did you read it a loud when making or after you made this. The flow wasn't on the spot.
Try adjusting the symbols(punctuation). Let it flow according to your emotion. I repeat! YOUR EMOTION!
Anyway, you have a great point of view because someone have their own feeling for graveyard.
And as for me graveyard is a great place to relax myself (No kidding) I love graveyard and sometimes when I sad or having a problem, I go to the place. By the way, I like this and I absolutely love the title because it just suited with the 'graveyard' thing!
I hope this helped and keep writing and good luck!
Forgive me if I made any mistake.
Hello there EmmVeePi, The Silent Bagpipe here to review some of your work.
First off I'll say my thoughts on your poem, before we get on to the structure - Your poem was, interesting in its own way, I must say. It was not quite what I expected when I clicked on the tittle but definitely worth my while in reading! Your poem struck something inside me, and I don't think I will ever be able to pass a cemetery again without thinking of who was buried there and what their purpose in life was. It is true that people don't really think of cemeteries very often, your poem opened my mind and made me have some questions... Who are the people buried underneath the ground? Were they fathers, sisters, brothers, mothers? Did they leave their mark in this world? I think you may have just inspired me in my writing, thank you for that!!
Onto the structure part of your poem - In some places it was a little hard to understand, but overall the grammar was fine. I personally had to reread the poem to get it in its fullest. It was just a little confusing, but I am sure if you fixed it up a bit it might come across more the first time around. Just a suggestion though, it is fine how you wrote it <3
Anyways that is all I have! Keep writing, you have a very creative mind!
