The Detective

Have you seen the detective?
I heard he was here to stay
A master of psychology and puzzles
He always seemed so gay

Have you seen the detective?
This case has not evolved
The suspect is still out on the loose
And we would really like it solved
If left uncaught he would be a danger, a menace, and a foe
For what is there to hamper him from striking another blow

Have you heard of the detective?
He was arrested late last night
For the murder of his beloved and for instigating a fight

What is new about this detective?
That is not the same for spies
Who seem to be of great help
Before spreading further lies

Have you seen the detective?
I’m sorry to say I have not
Ever since the last one
He has tarnished his lot

Yet do not judge a book on its cover
Or the shelf from which it came
I urge you to find another detective
And let him establish his name

I'm the Demon with an ess and here's a quick little review! :D

Haha, this poem took an interesting twist. I LIKE IT!
Think you should look over the puntuation and the flow was a bit choppy because of the occasional long lines but... wellwell. This was still a kool and fun poem to read.

Good Luck & Keep Writing

ooohh, a noir poem! funnnn! The, uh, which one was it? The one towards the begining where you're telling about the foe striking again? That couplet is a little long for the tempo, but that is the only true issue. I love all mystery....stuff. This was fun, because it was kind of a 'and then there was one' theme. Great work!

I really enjoyed reading this but have a thing I would like to put out there instead of it like this...

Have you seen the detective?
This case has not evolved
The suspect is still out on the loose
And we would really like it solved
If left uncaught he would be a danger, a menace, and a foe
For what is there to hamper him from striking another blow

Have you heard of the detective?
He was arrested late last night
For the murder of his beloved and for instigating a fight

try and put it like this...

Have you seen the detective?
This case has not evolved
The suspect is still out on the loose
And we would really like it solved
If left uncaught he would be a danger,
a menace, and a foe
For what is there to hamper him,
from striking another blow

Have you heard of the detective?
He was arrested late last night
For the murder of his beloved and,
for instigating a fight

Interesting topic.
I found this to be quite entertaining.
Although I do have one question for you

When you used the word "gay" did you mean gay as in a homosexual or gay as in being happy.
I think it was the latter, but I just want to make sure.

If you want to make enemies, try to change something.
