Poison (need a new title)

My body was so close to his,
I could feel the heat from his skin
engulfing mine.
His eyes pierced my scalp,
my head tilted towards hell.
“Look at me,” he said.
My neck stiffened and faltered
in the stillness of his voice.
“Look at me.”
His innocent words,
my poison.
Slowly, in increments,
I lifted my face to his.
The love in his eyes like needles,
filling me with regret.
He came closer;
his hand slipping up my arm,
like ivy
seeking to draw out the dark source of my guilt.
Daringly I touch him back,
his sweat like blood from the scars.
His cold, dead hands streaming up my back,
my soul screams up from below
for him to release me.
A skeleton holds me now.
Yet I embrace it still;
he is blind to his own scars,
he can’t perceive my deception.
If I let him see,
he’ll not only see my splitting tongue,
but his own decrepit bones.
Peeling away from him for just a moment,
his eyes piercing my scalp,
I tilt my head towards hell.


**i need a knew title. I only put Poison up there temporarily. I just can't find a good one. Thanks for the help!**

This is a really good poem.

I can relate to this poem, & I love how u wrote it out. great work

This is very good.

You could look up a keyword in a thesaurus and pick the oddest or most genuine version of that word that you can find,.... That's what I usually do if I need a title.

I can relate to this piece in so many different ways. I'm glad you wrote it.
