How to Visit Etherworld

So I heard about this ritual that you can do in order to visit another dimension and have any question answered truthfully and accurately. This place goes by many names such as the “Shadowlands”, “Otherworld” or “Etherworld” to name a few. Even I don’t understand it myself as I’ve only been once. But, once was more than enough.

There are a few key aspects as to how to reach Etherworld. On the night that you decide to do this ritual, ensure that you have a meal of red-meat (beef or lamb). Eat this as fast and as late as you can; the more tired you are the better the ritual will work. If you find it hard to be tired (burning eyes, yawning more than 5 times in an hour, etc.) then you may need to wait a couple of nights in order to reach this state.

Before you sleep, you must construct Etherworld for yourself. You should be the only one present in it and therefore you should know its directions. Make sure you have numerous escape routes, in case something unexpected occurs. You can leave this part out but it will make the experience a lot more stressful. As you are constructing your world, make sure you are lying in bed and eat a candy bar/sugar snack. Make sure you have clock nearby with an audible tick; it will be your only method of returning safely to the real world should the ritual commence.

Once the world has been built, you are allowed to fall asleep. Make sure you listen to the clock as you drift off, as it will appear randomly in the world. If you don’t listen, you will lose track of it and may become stuck in limbo, searching endlessly for the clock that never appeared. Make sure you also hold on to your toy or doll.

If the ritual has been carried out properly, you should land in what I call the “Knitting Room”. There will be a woman there and the sound of clicking. DO NOT look at her or what she is knitting. She is the Dreamweaver, Ruler of Dreamscape.

You should hear her ask: “Why are you here?”

Note that her voice sometimes may be distorted and may grate or echo too much to be understood. If this is the case, that is what she is asking. If she asks something else, you must wake up as soon as possible.

Firmly demand that you wish to visit “Etherworld.” She will attempt to convince you to visit Dreamscape and she may show you the portal. I have never heard stories of people choosing to go to Dreamscape, which means they may still be there. Ignore her and repeat that you wish to go to the Otherworld. She will reluctantly agree and open the portal. You should recognize the world, as you were the one who created it.

If you step into the portal, remember that you are no longer in the real world. Anything can happen, as this place harbours the supernatural and paranormal. Your clock will disappear from your hand but you should hear it echoing somewhere in Etherworld. Before you search for it, you should head to the world’s centre in order to have your question answered. This is not as easy as it seems and may take hours, despite you knowing the route. Try not to look or reply to anything that you encounter along the way. Do not trust anyone or anything.

You should find a huge, ornate fountain gushing clear water. If it is any other colour than clear, leave immediately and search for your clock. Otherwise, cast your toy into the water and ask your question. The water will flow black and solidify. From here, a face will merge from the blackness and answer your question. Do not look away, regardless of what the visage looks like. Do not interrupt it. After it has answered your question, make sure to say “Thank you. Now, what I have come to do is done and I wish to return home.” It will point its tongue in the direction of your clock. Find it as soon as possible.

To return to the real world, turn the hands of your clock back so they show 12:00. You MUST turn them back or you will end up altering the course of the future.

Congratulations! If you followed these steps you visited and returned safely from the Etherworld, with (hopefully) the answer to your question.

Warnings:

If you fail to adhere to the guidelines, you will become truly endangered. Etherworld and its dimensions are not designed for mortals. We are invaders and more often than not treated as such. If you find yourself in an emergency, you must awaken yourself. If you awaken yourself from the “Knitting Room” or “Etherworld” without the clock, you are taking a huge risk (sometimes this is unavoidable). The clock is a mortal object and thus cannot be used by those that live in Etherworld - it is a safe passage for us. However, waking up without the aid of the clock produces a rift in which these beings can traverse into our world, as the clock will remain in Etherworld and lose its mortal qualities.

If you wake up while it is still dark, have feelings of anxiety, your clock is no longer ticking or you are no longer in your bed, then you are in grave danger. This is usually due to one of two scenarios.

1) You are still in “Etherworld” or similar dimension. If so, I would advise you to try and find your clock once again to return to the real world safely.

2) I’m afraid to inform you that you have brought a demon from Etherworld into our world. You should head to your local church and be cleansed before it’s too late. Good luck.
