Tuesday [Supernatural cover of Rebecca Black]

PreviousNext

Hello! This is something completely serious which took me weeks to write.

DISCLAIMER IN CAPS: If you haven't seen the Supernatural episode called "Mystery Spot" (s3e11), you will not get this. I'm sorry.

DISCLAIMER IN CAPS 2: If you didn't realise it already, this is a cover of Rebecca Black's "Friday", and in no way am I trying to take credit for her original song, because seriously, who would do that?

Here goes.

(And just so you know, it didn't really take me weeks to write. Also, the asterisks are because I didn't get the line breaks in...)

***

7 am, waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go hunting
'Heat of the Moment' playing too loudly
(I never get to pick the music)
Brushin' on and on, no more toothpaste
Gotta get down to mystery spot
Gotta save the day, but I see my brother
*

Kickin' lots of buckets
Chokin' on the sausage
Gotta make my mind up
Which way will he live?
*

(Chorus)
It's Tuesday, Tuesday
Gotta get out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
Tuesday, Tuesday
Getting out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
*

Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Not fun, not fun
Looking forward to the Wednesday
*

7:45, we're looking for breakfast
I'm so hungry, yay, there's a diner
Yum, yum, think about yum
We know what it is
I got stack, Dean got pig
A waitress by my right, eh
She drops the hot sauce bottle
And I catch it
*

Kickin' lots of buckets
Slippin' in the shower
Gotta make my mind up
Which way will Dean live?
*

(Chorus)
It's Tuesday, Tuesday
Gotta get out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
Tuesday, Tuesday
Getting out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
*

Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Not fun, not fun
Looking forward to the Wednesday
*

(Bridge)
Yesterday was Tuesday, Tuesday
Today it is Tuesday, Tuesday
Me, me, me, so astounded
Me so astounded
Exactly like Groundhog Day
*

Tomorrow will be Tuesday
And Tuesday comes afterwards…
I really want this Tuesday to end
*

(Rap Verse - The Trickster)
SW, Sam Winchester
So chillin' in the diner
In the diner
I'm sittin', eatin' (Yeah, yeah)
Pancakes, nice pancakes
Maple syrup by their side (Woo!)
Passin' by are the brothers in front of me
Makes tick tock, tick tock, he wanna scream
Check his time, it's Tuesday without an end
I'm gonna have fun, c'mon, c'mon, y'all
*

(Chorus - Sam)
It's Tuesday, Tuesday
Gotta get out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
Tuesday, Tuesday
Getting out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
*

Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Not fun, not fun
Looking forward to the Wednesday
*

It's Tuesday, Tuesday
Gotta get out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
Tuesday, Tuesday
Getting out of Tuesday
Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday
*

Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Dean dying, Dean dying (Nooo)
Not fun, not fun
Looking forward to the Wednesday

So...since my original comment four years ago, I've totally seen every episode of Supernatural.

Which like does not even matter, but I just wanted to say.

Hi!

For the record, it's hilarious even if you don't get it. I'm not even sure I'd think it was this funny if I got it. The mental images! Egads, the mental images. They make me snarf soda.

Sorry, I don't really have anything worthwhile to say. Just saying that it was really funny and I'm glad I read it anyway. Though, it did get me wondering how many times you had to subject yourself to that song to get the verses right... if it was more than once, deepest sympathies. XD

Nice job!

Ceres! :D

First of all, I am glad you spent weeks and weeks perfecting this perfection of perfect perfectly serious work. Not many people strive for this level of quality, so I am glad to see it here! This is yet one more reason why I am creating a Ceres theme club. ;)

I don't really know about Supernatural at all (yeah, I know, I suck), but I've seen pictures of Dean (squeeeee!) so the fact that you have him dying and then the words "Noooo" pop up is very apt and I agree whole-heartedly. Also, I have to wonder... do they eat breakfast all the time? It sounded like there was a lot of breakfast eating in this song, which was kind of funny (in both respects of the word "funny") with all the killing involved. XD

Anyway, I just want you to know that these lyrics are soooo much better than Rebecca Black's original lyrics. So, I am pretty sure that she should fire her current song writers and hire you on instead.

Also, I am the 42nd person to like this work. I am not sure what this means, exactly, but I am sure it means something.

I barely even know what Supernatural is but this made me laugh:

in no way am I trying to take credit for her original song, because seriously, who would do that?

and it wasn't even part of the actual piece. [/helpful]

hillarious. The only thing is that that song will be stuck in my head for DAYS NOW. thanks. thanks alot. really appreciate it. (i hope you've realized by now that that was totally sarcastic.)
you wanna know what wasn't sacrastic? my review. that really was hillarious. great parody by the way. artfully done. great finness. (if that's how you spell it?)
well, i have to go to bed now...my head's about to explode. just wanted to tell ya before i die to go to sleep, great song thingy parody of horrible song making it tollerable. kind of. well....i think that might just be streaching it. funny. i'm about to die from laughing. don't let the periods and short senteces fool you. i'm just ungodly tired. so, i should probably shut up now. well, good night. or good morning. or good tea time. i dont know. perhaps it's good lunch?
i guess i'll just say good day. or night.

good life. bye.

Like is not enough. Love might not even be good enough. My favorite episode put into a great parody. Love it. (ahh, it's tuesday. Pig in a poke!)

Genius, I love it. I know its been done, but hasn't everything. Keep writing, this made me laugh with the lyric choices I am so liking.

Gah, this is awesome. (I can't comment on the rhythm, because parodies always throw me off. :p)

Great job! And I really, truly just don't care bout seeing an episode/movie before reading fanfiction and stuffs. Yeah, it's helpful, and I won't get as lost, but for me, it's not necessary. I don't know if it's because I started reading Yu Yu Hakusho and Tokyo Mew Mew fanfiction before even seeing the entirety of the series (because it didn't air, because I couldn't find it, whatever, I don't remember, that's just what I did, and you know what? It was almost more enjoyable, because I couldn't spot the flaws. :p Also, yay, tangent) or what, but I've learned to just keep my mouth shut and figure things out as tyhe show progresses--I can usually figure it out by what they're saying, what's going on, hints they're dropping, and how they're (I should prolly specify I'm talking about the characters, huh) acting, and if I'm still confused, well, I can always go back and watch earlier eps later, and if not, who cares, right? I mean, it's just tv. ;3

This has been a long, mostly pointless review filled with tangents and probably way too many commas and run-on sentences, simply because I didn't want to just say "That's great! Good job!" because I like reading reviews, so I like leaving long ones for people, and that was the only thing I could think of to say, and this is kinda getting ridiculous so I'll stop typing now.

Thanks for posting!

Bahahaha! That was hilarious. I actually played the original song while I read your lyrics. I never would have done such a thing and sat through that entire song if it wasn't about the Winchester brothers. I especially loved the part where yesterday, today, tomorrow, and the day after that will be Tuesday. Poor Sam... That was an awesome episode and these lyrics do it justice. "Kickin' lots of buckets" had me laughing too.

Siiri. I will say this once, and no doubt will I say it in the future. I love you. Liek srsly. <3.14

One suggestion I might make, though:

Me and myself's looking forward to the Wednesday, Wednesday

Think of the flow here. In the song Friday, the first time is says the Friday equivalent that line, it says it like you would. But the second time, it repeats Wednesday only once. Sneaky.

OMG! Dems, you rock my socks with this :D

I'm glad I've seen that episode, else I'd have no clue at all what you were talking about. Fortunately, I have, and I love you for posting this. True, "Friday" has spawned many parodies, but I have yet to see another one that has a cleverly interwoven "Supernatural" theme. Pure genius, if you ask me.

I'd love to be able to crit this properly but I haven't heard this song and I feel if I do listen to it, I'll loose a little unique part of my soul, so I'm afraid I won't, not even for you, Dems.

But I love that episode so much. XD And it's hilarious to think of Sam and the Trickster doing a duet together.

This might be a vital part of playing off the original, but this is incredibly incorrect:

Me, me, me, so astounded

Me so astounded

Exactly like Groundhog Day

I was wondering if it had to be so grammatically incorrect?

Oh my god oh my god oh my god!!!! GAH! So when I first read this I was asking myself whether I've seen this episode or not and then I was like YES! This has to be THE best spoof on Rebecca Black and the best tribute to Supernatural that I've ever seen! I sort of love you now. =] Epicness has been made!

I do not even watch Supernatural (actually we don't even have cable, so probably it's not available on any of our channels anyway), and I still thought this was hilarious. I particularly liked the "(Noooo)" after "Dean dying." And of course it goes without saying that this is approximately five million times better than the original song.
