For Jared's contest. I don't know anything about lyric writing, so please, don't take this too seriously. I didn't, either, as you may notice.
*******
(chorus)
Oh please
Take me back to 90's
I'd give anything to re-live my early years
Though I've forgot a lot
I know this (dot, dot, dot):
It was the decade of real Golden Days
DNA and Dolly the sheep
Kate and Leo in too deep
U-double-S-R met its end
Eurodance, Pokémon, catsuit trend
In the discos they danced Macarena
The coolest moves of all – back then-a
It was so easy to sing along MMMBop
Oh, how I wish to hit 'rewind' and 'stop'
(chorus)
Oh please
Take me back to 90's
I'd give anything to go through it all again
Though I've forgot a lot
I know this (dot, dot, dot):
It was the decade of real Golden Days
Here I'm sitting, wondering
What went wrong and when
'Cause kids today just live through the Net
No more games with Barbie and Ken
Things used to be so good
We spiced up our life in Girl Power mood
The Lion King roared in mighty '94
I don't think I need to say more!
(chorus)
Just please
I wanna go to 90's
I'd give anything to re-live my early years
Though I've forgot a lot
I know this (dot, dot, dot):
It was the decade of real Golden Days
So now you want to go there, too
You know what? I don't blame you
Take my hand, the way I'll lead
A time machine is all we need
(chorus)
Oh please
Take us back to 90's
There's many things I'd like you to see with me
Though I've forgot a lot
I know this: you've just got
To see the decade of real Golden Days
Well, kids will be kids, I know
It's just me, changed and grown
But still
When I was your age...
I lived the decade of real Golden Days.

This made me smile! I
really like this line: 'Here I'm sitting, wondering What went wrong and when 'Cause kids today just live through the Net No more games with Barbie and Ken'
So true! Anyway, good job! Keep writing!
Well, first of all let me just say, the 90’s were the best times of my life! I saw this and thought, I HAVE to review this. I think you depicted the things that made the top of the 90’s list beautifully. It was funny, creative, and just downright true. I do have a few critiques though, more like suggestions that might help the coherence and clarity of the entire piece. Here I go!
I think this line would make more sense if it was "Take me back to the 90's"I love this line, it made me laugh
This was a creative way to spell and say this haha
Again I might say, "In the discos they danced the Macarena"
I am SO happy you put this in here, and as a side note, I hope you are going to go see it in theaters in 3D!!
As a whole I really liked your chorus, it really did make me smile
I love this poem/song I just had to put in my two cents. You DO NOT have to change anything, these were just suggestions. Awesome writing!

Thank you for writing this!
I miss the 90's so much.
Better music, better cartoons, just better. Thank you!
This is my new favorite song because of the mention of Leonardo DiCaprio.
That'se awesom! 90's were the best years ever! Slappy bracelets, pokemon, when people said SIKE at the end of sentences! Those were the days! Ah I miss those days! Somebody had to write a song about it! Great song. x x x x x x x
oh, the 90s. good times, good times. 90s nickelodeon was especially the best. and the fashion everyone wore, oh my. i miss those says =/

anyways, i'd say this song pretty acccurately describes on of the best decades ever! haha. good job, i liked it a lot. if you could write some music to go with this that'd be great, too!
I will give it a 9/10! If you are asking why not ten my answer is that:
Some parts were a little bit forced.

But anyways I thought this was really good song. I bet it would sound awesome if you had or have a melody for it! This would be good for maybe a rock n roll music, anyways I think it was interesting to read. Good luck and you deserve a star!
I really loved all the choruses and especially the lines about the golden days and age etc. those were awesome. but the line "though I'vthe forgot alot" it would sound better as: forgotten alot. and in my opinion you should toss the "real" just before the "golden days"
great song! gold star=)
Wow, this is really good...such a nostalgic theme...I didn't notice anything wrong with it. I actually thought that the rhyme scheme was good and I think it flowed pretty naturally. I love how you mentioned DNA and Dolly the sheep (my favorite line
). Anyway, I can imagine this being sung at one of those old-fashioned discos. It made me feel like I was there and experiencing this. That's pretty extraordinary considering I'm only 13. So, excellent job with the descriptions. Gold star for you!

YESSS!! The title got me in and it was sick!!
Every teenager can relate to this and will love it! >.<
It's all true... **wipes away tear** ...it's so beautiful!
Demeter! These lyrics are excellent, especially since I can relate to almost everything.
I believe it would be 'forgotten a lot.' But, on the other hand, you need a certain number of syllables and I grant you artistic license. But I still wanted to point it out.
I know you need the dot, dot, dot so that it rhymes. Yes. But this is still strange, and I don't think I would have gotten that you meant an ellipse if I had heard it instead of reading it...again, I don't know if you should/shouldn't/want to/don't want to change it, but I wanted to point this out too.
Take out the just, because this line is too long and you don't need that word.
Lyrics are always a bit hard, because I'm not sure what tune you would want it to be sung to. Right now, I'm envisioning it as something like Debbie by Bowling for Soup (that song is about the 80s!). So that's where all my wording nit-picks came from, they might not apply to a different melody.
Other than that, I'm not sure what to say-I really loved this. I think you captured the nineties perfectly, as well as that nostalgic-but-not-bitter feeling. Good luck with the contest!
xxxxx
Ah, the 90s. Bill Clinton was President, no Georgey the Bush, no stupid, pointless wars...
Ah, those were the days. Pokemon, being pre-five-years-old. My God, those were such simpler times. I didn't notice anything wrong with this, other than that the rhyme scheme wavered in some parts. Besides that, very good job.
Hah! This was pretty funny! Just one little thing I noticed (shocking, I know):
The rhyme here is a tad forced. I know it probably won't get changed, but, just pointing that out.
I liked the Lion King mention. With you writing this, it works.
I miss the 90's, good music, awesome TV shows, amazing movies...and so many things to do aside from sit on the PC...now days we could get arrested for some terrorist nonsense, harassed by police, suppose it is just easier to sit inside (for me anyway, not many really like the liberty spikes lol).
I loved it. The title was what brought me in and you delivered. I can so easily imagine this to a upbeat pop melody. It drips with nostalgia and fun. Good luck in the contest. I might be entering too, but either way, I think this is a very entertaining song.
