Writers All

Writers All

We come to you
With ideas
Ideas that may be good
And may be terrible

We don't know

All we know
Is that behind our eyes
Are adventures
Untold
Great escapades of war
And of peace
And of laughter

Inside our pencils
Are crying songs
Outlets of rage
Of heartbreak
Of fear

We have nothing
Of substance
To offer you
Except the colors
Of our own imagination
Of our feelings
Of our lightened
Or leaden hearts

Inside us, tales of
Guns, knives
Chases and captures
Knights and princesses
Evil and good
Love and loss

Take a look
Behind the words
Stop reading
And let
Our silent voice
Sweep you away
Into our worlds

Perhaps
We hide behind
Names that aren't ours
In anonymity,
None can see past the screen
To the girl
Weeping and alone
Or the boy
Quiet and strong
Who speaks in letters

We may be the ones
Who skip home
From the libraries
Or the ones who
Need a world
In which to escape
A world that no one
But we could dream

We are all here
Alive inside our reverie
And our nightmares

Forgive us
But the product of our minds
Does not always fit
Into the boundaries of grammar
This language is not enough
To channel the colors
Inside of us

But please
Lend us your small,
Precious time
Let us invite you
Into a world engineered
By an outcast
Or a reject
Or a dreamer
Or a friend

Without you, reader
We are nothing
Without you
Our tales die
Unheard
In our hearts

We are here to write
And to share
We need you
And you need us
Because here
We are writers all.

Hey there Speakerskat here to write a review for you and team Dreamwave.

Though this already had 8 reviews I just had to read and review it, after all it's about us ;) plus you are such and amazing and talented writer!

TOTALLY AMAZING !!!! It just totally described how I ( and I'm sure many other writers) feel about writing. This was the bet thing I have read all day and frankly in quite a while. The imagrey you painted and how you kept it short clean and chrisp really contributed to your diction and just the overall flow of this poem. Although not traditional the structure and formatting worked so beautifully that only someone with quite a lot of expirience could pull it off ( I'm sure I couldn't but I aspire to some day!) I really can't say much else less I should repeat what someone else has said. Please PM me when you write more.

Awaiting your next work with eagerness!

Hey! I beleive I have reviewed your work before, so I dont think I need to introduce myself, but if not :

Im SecreteJournalist, but feel free to call me Brie (: Today I am happily reviewing for Team Fire Flower!

Now.. sorry about me going on and on... (get to the point ..)

OK, on to the review :D

The title drew me in, and I am glad it did!!!!!!!!! As I read the poem, I thought of what a perfect description of a writer it really was. It made me feel proud to be a writer! I have two favorite stanzas:

"Take a look
Behind the words
Stop reading
And let
Our silent voice
Sweep you away
Into our worlds"

I like this, it has a good meaning, and its flowing with power. It just has a little zesty fire waiting to burst ^.^

The other stanza I fell in love with was

"All we know
Is that behind our eyes
Are adventures
Untold
Great escapades of war
And of peace
And of laughter"

It again, makes me very proud to be a writer! This one, is also true. I can see all the other writers sitting here, reading this, nodding their head proudly, at the wonderful description of who they are.

I hope you like the review, I did not find anything to critique! Keep writing, and I will keep reading! C:

I saw your name.. read the poem and forgot, then went back up to the top to like (where the heck is the love button?!) and saw your name once more.. You are an unbelievable writer! I want to come to this link every day and read this. Once isn't even going to do justice to this.. I will not put a review up because I can not find criticism in me to give to you.

I really adore this poem because it describes every single writer in this universe.
I like the part where its like
" Take a look
Behind the words
Stop reading
And let
Our silent voice
Sweep you away
Into our worlds "

Because sometimes people never look behind the words to see the true meaning of the work and that's why sometimes people don't understand.

Amazing and relatable. I LOVE IT.

I just wanted to say that this poem rocks.
No one's ever written a poem about me before; I feel flattered. ;)
In all seriousness though, I love this. You've got a great flow, something not easy to accomplish and I love the imagery.
Thanks for writing this,
Tgirly

You know, going along this poem I was like "writing about writing is a very fine line" and I wasn't sure if I was going to like this. I think the idea was a little surface, kind of bordering that "writers write stuff because they're totally creative and imaginative" when there's kind of a lot more to it, but I don't know if I'm really all too bothered by it here. I also don't know if I'm a fan of the "writers all" thing because we aren't all writers, BUT I still sort of like it despite all this.

Even though I can't exactly pinpoint what I ended up liking about it, I just know that I kind of do, and you know, that's pretty OK. I think it's pretty alright.

Hey InkBlot, this is an excellent poem. Firstly, kudos to you for writing about yourself. It's kinda vain, but still awesome, lol.
I like the gigantic scope of this poem, the way you started by directly addressing all writers is a wonderful opening and it also hints at the magnitude of descriptions you use when talking about writers and the craft in the latter parts of the poem.
You also have major skills with imagery and you can totally spin some really cool phrases that only add to the grand perspective of the persona. Good examples of your awesomeness with the diction include: "behind our eyes / are adventures", "Inside our pencils / are crying songs." I could go on and on about how amazing this is and how difficult it's gonna be for other people to come up with a negative comment about this piece, but I think you get how I feel about it by now.
Good job
:-)
