I am a Giraffe

Prompt: Write about an animal you relate to in any poetic form.

I look at a giraffe,

You know what I see?

A peaceful creature

Full of complexity.

You may see a giant

I can relate,

Though my five-foot, two

Is nothing to nineteen, eight!

We're much alike,

A giraffe and I.

Our heads in the clouds

And minds in the sky!

There's no limitations;

Every wall is a door!

When you believe,

You can do so much more!

A giraffe is awkward,

But I am too.

I'll continue to grow

Just to say that I grew.

A giraffe will stretch

To reach the top.

As I stretch out my mind,

The learning won't stop.

Straining to reach

Life's ambitions and goals,

Not stopping to wonder

What the future will hold.

Hello CapitalMonday here to review. I want to begin that this poem has touched my heart since like a giraffe, I am tall but i am also awkward. Also how you compare the two make on point. This poem can relate to anyone, no matter the height, we are giraffes since we could either be awkward or stretch out minds into new dimensions to find new material. If we need help, just think of an giraffe and then (you might) get an idea for something amazing.

The two points you made in here are amazing since you showed us that yes, a giraffe may be tall and have purple tongue, but we are the same as everyone else. This poem also reminds me of my (little) friend who would always look up at me when we talk and one day she said you are a giraffe and i laughed. And for you are a turtle, that walks every so slow. Now, when she says i am like a giraffe, i will tell her that we were all giraffe at one point of another (or maybe some people are stills giraffes as we know it)

I know I am.
PS: this is a great poem.
Farewell,
CapitalMOnday

Brother, you touched my heart just by that name, let me tell you that, first of all. The thing is that I was pretty tall, taller than the other guys in my class that had been the source of pranks against my height. I just loved your poem, the parameters are great and the flow is unbelievably awesome - I have never read a better humorous poem in my entire life! Man, I'll say you must continue writing and I promise you, you'll become great one day.

Keep the writing ghost alive and stay blessed! :)

First off, that was great. If this was a prompt from school I'd really love to know the teacher's reaction. How tall are the kids in your class if you're short at 5'2''?

I can't really say I see anything wrong with this poem. The flow is great and melodious and your carefully show the reader how much your comparison makes sense. That's pretty much all I have to say, so on a scale of one to ten, ten being the highest number. I give you a twelve for your brilliant humor and fun comparison. ;)

Thanks haha :) yeah... Most of them are 5'6"-5'11"... We're turning it in on Monday and I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when I tell them my animal is a giraffe lol

Yay!!! Girraffes!!! Amazing poem!

Hello! :D
I really love this poem! :) Awesome! :D I only have one little nitpick.
"A giraffe is awkward,
But I am too.
I'll continue to grow
Just to say that I grew."
I don't know why, but this sounds a little weird. Maybe you could switch up the words a little. :) (Unless you meant it to be awkward, in which case it is perfectly fine, and really funny :D ) Great poem! *likes poem* I love it! :D

Love it .. I can relate to how this fits you. I learned alout my faveortive part is
"A giraffe will stretch

To reach the top.

As I stretch out my mind,

The learning won't stop.

Straining to reach my

Life's ambitions and goals,

Not stopping to wonder

What the future will hold."

Love it but keep up the good work, i needed a smile on my face and i think everyone needs to read this. becasue it you stop learnign youll stop growing . and my mind it the same way i like new ideas. i like to think just like that anything that comes to my head i just put my mind on it. Because youll never know where that well get you. ITs good writing about somthing possitive. Keep up the good work!
