The Wanderer

PreviousNext

Hi guys!! This is my first poem, I've never really done them before... It's strange because I've always said that YWS is OVERLOADED with poems, but now I'M writing them! If you find this sort of depressing that's because I was depressed when I wrote it.

The Wanderer

I wandered aimlessly,
Always looking,
Never stopping.

When will I stop? I asked myself.
I didn't know.
What am I looking for? I asked myself.
This I did know.
I was looking for peace,
I was looking for happiness,
I was looking for pleasure.

Some days I found what I was looking for,
Some days I found the opposite.
I would look upon the way,
The anger,
The sadness,
The depression,
And I would shake my head and move on.

I know this world has good and bad attributes
But why do the bad ones seem to clog everything?

Because of humans.
We have started Global Warming,
We always have wars,
We always have anger

Every day I want to give up,
But I trudge on,
Looking,
Seeking,
Wandering.

I really enjoyed reading this. At first, I thought it was someone lost and looking for love but as I continue reading it, I found it's actually about the environment. Keep writing because I really enjoyed reading your poetry. Overall, I really know that you have the talent to write poetry.

Good luck and keep writing,

Alicia.
