I vary in size, color, shape, and form
You can find me almost anywhere
Though nearly never in a dark rainstorm.
You see, my friend, I am born with light
I thrive on radiant, sunny days
And solemnly hide in the dark of night.
I can be as tall as a grown giraffe
That browses through the trees
Or as tiny as an ant and a half.
Before you solve the riddle and announce
Your answer, loud and clear
Know that I weigh less than an ounce.
What am I?

Hello, Wolfie!
Shadow was the first thing I thought of, you did a wonderful job at hinting at it.
I just wanted to say that I disagree with one of your reviewers. I think that not only did "announce" and "ounce" rhyme (because it's a matter of how one reads it), but they also rhymed with "Your answer", especially if it's read in a British accent. But, that's just my opinion.
Have a nice day!
Oh gosh, this is soooo old! Thank you for reading and commenting on it!
It could use some work - perhaps I'll revise it now for fun.
Dear Wolfie!!!
This is Eros here to review another work of yours!!
I tried to solve the riddle. This one is little harder but it was funn to solve it. It made me think. I thought the answer could be water assuming that the size could be the amount of availability. So it does ve]ary in size and shape -- because water has no definite shape. But then sice it is always there in a rainstorm, I thought that my guess is wrong.
I proceeded in the same way and reached at a conclusion that it could be shadow--because it varies in size and shape and even colour--the shades, sometimes i is dark and at other tomes it is faint.
The riddle was good and I think it is a most difficult work to caompose a reiddle in such a beautiful manner. It has many rhyming words. i loved to read this because of the beautiful composition and the brainy exercise I had.
Keep writing! We all love to read your work!
Thank you, Eros!!! My poetry is terrible though... I'm better at chapters and short stories. Keep up your amazing reviewing!!
curious how much a shadow actually weighs now, your really good with riddles.
Really? I honestly think I'm terrible at anything poetic, especially because I did this so long ago... but thank you!!!
no problem
SHADOW!!!!
YESS!!! With an extra hint, GINGAHCAKES wins!!! Sorry guys that was hard...
super hard and yay!!!
Extra hint: It likes to follow you
heat waves? XD
Nope
Smoke?!
Close! The only sense you can usually use to see if it's there is sight%u2026 if that helps. Tomorrow I'll give a give away hint
Steam? Water Vapor?
FOG!
Closer!
Is it the blue sky or something?
Probably wrong xD
Is it color?
No
a ray of sunlight?
Is it a cloud?
No but you're getting closer.
moon, sun, stars? idk...........
Hey! I'm going to write a short review for you.
I love how this is a riddle yet it has rhyming to it. You don't know how much I love ryhming
Anywayyyys, I noticed all lines started with a capital letter. I don't think that's needed...?
"Ounce" and "ounce" don't really rhyme, now do they?
Well, other than the other things I said, I found nothing.
And I couldn't think of anything either. lost and Iggy already said happiness and hope... Ugh.
I' guessing it's an emotion, though. Okay. I give up.
Hope this helps~!
Really? I thought announce and ounce rhyme... Is it because they're pretty much the same? Thanks for the review, I appreciate it! But no, it isn't even an emotion. It can be seen.
Can you tell me how else I would capitalize/not capitalize the first words?
Well, I guess since they just have the same exact ending... I don't know.

And don't bother about taking my capitalization advice.
A first I thought it was a tornado, but tornadoes aren't light...
Star?
Sunshine?
Plants...?
No. It isn't really light... it just appears when there is a light
Hmm
o___o I'm not sure how to review a riddle. >_> I suggest you use either wall posts or blogs next time. xD
Okay, so let me just say that this is tough. But I'll bother with solving it later. Right now, I'll focus on the riddle itself.
I don't like the repetition of "almost" in both of these lines. It works for the first line but not the second, so I suggest you remove it.
Is the indeed really necessary? I think not, so I suggest you remove it. >_>
Okay, so I adore the simple rhyme scheme here. xD This is as tough as a riddle should be! You give us lots of hints, yet I can't think of anything. I feel stupid. <_< I wanna say happiness, but you already told lostthought no, so I have no idea. PM me the answer! I swear I won't tell anyone. I just want to know x)
I shall guess anyways... is it hope?
Well, I hope my review helps, if at all. Your riddle was very interesting to read xD did you make it up yourself?
~Iggy
Yes, I made it up myself
Thanks for reviewing it! I agree with you on the repetition part, I never noticed it. And I never really liked that "indeed" either; I just wanted the rhyming lines to have ten syllables each. I guess that's not necessary.
Rainbow!
That's actually a really good guess, but no. It isn't that colorful.
Sun light?
No, it's not bright at all.
Now I just want to say happiness.
Nope
Flowers?
No. It's not happy.
Can I say a Smile?
Yes you can. But no it isn't that
