Define love. That's what most people find hardest to define. Love. Such a small and typical word yet no one actually knows what it really is! If you think this is just a cliche work of your "so-called love essay", then think again 'cause it's not! You think you know everything about love? You think you're so smart that you can just say "I know what love is" and act like you really do? No, you don't! So stay, read this and understand.
"Love is pain ."
What? If you believe this, then you're an idiot! Love is not pain and it will NEVER be pain. How can love be pain? It is created to bring joy not suffering! If you still believe that definition after my simple explanation, then you don't understand love at all. If you really feel the pain, then that's not love. I know, I know. When you love someone you'll feel the pain but hey, you'll have your share of happiness, right? So don't you dare tell me that it is actual pain or I'll have to ask you read this paragraph all over again!
"Love is a pineapple ."
Yes, yes! Wait, what? What do you mean by "how so?"? It is quite obvious! Don't you see? Let me explain it clearly. Before a sweet pineapple is picked, you have to experience the pain of the thorns first. Do you understand now? Relate it to love. Before you receive the kind of love you want, you have to experience first the thorns just to prove your love. You don't just walk to a pretty girl and tell her you'll marry her. That would be absurd!
There are also negative comparisons of love to a pineapple. You want to know why? Alright. Yes, the harvester had gathered the fruit after his struggle but wait, why is he selling it to someone? Why isn't he enjoying it himself? What, he chose money over it? Such greed! Maybe he just doesn't deserve it. Maybe someone will enjoy her more. Look, a nice-looking guy bought it and enjoyed it sincerely, pleased with the sweetness it brought him. What? He got hurt! He cut his tongue because of the sour, sharp taste of it. It had learned its lesson and now it wants revenge? Sigh. What a pitiful sight. I'd rather move on.
"Love is a tricycle. "
Here goes. In spite of the burden it had, it could still go on. How so? Because at the end of every journey, you will find happiness and contentment. But sometimes don't let the tricycle you like wait, because when it gets satisfied with the passengers who came before you do, you'll never get a chance to ride it. And you'll have to wait for another. Use your mind to relate it to our topic!
"Love is a dish cloth."
Example, people who got hurt are the plates. Even after all the wash or the moving-on tactics, they'll always need a certain someone (the dish cloth) to wipe away their tears.
"Love is an aggressive man. "
Huh? Why? It's destiny. Wherever you are, whatever you do, whoever you meet, there will always be that someone who is destined for you.
"Love is a desperate phone call. "
Obviously, it pertains to true love! Do I really have to explain everything to you? Well, okay. No matter how hard we try to ignore it, it will insist on reaching us. Why is it true love? Because true love doesn't give up. Because true love doesn't hurt even after being ignored. Because true love cares. Because true love doesn't get tired. That's true love. Whether we like it or not, we have to answer for it. We'll never know how important that call is.
Now that you're read everything I wrote, do you understand now? Still no? You're hopeless. Read it again and this time, love it.

*Applauds* Bravo! Truly bravo! This may be the best essay on love I have ever read, especially the comparisons. I think they should be added onto a dictionary! Is just that everything you write in here, doesn't seem forced at all but it speaks out so well and really touches my heart. And your grammar is near perfect and so is your structure.
The only suggestion I would make is that, between each comparison, you should make a new paragraph. That way, they seem much more neater and easier to read. But that's just my opinion, your piece is already perfect the way it is.
Love your work!

You have obviously spent a lot of time thinking about this. And it's great! Not sure I would agree with all the comparisons, but the piece is well written and well structured. I 'love' it. Well done. More of this sort of stuff please!!!
That was great! I loved how accurate these descriptions seem to be, and how they hit head on. Of course they are meant to apply to relationships with those here on earth; but one major factor that I would add in if I ever wrote something like this, would include the fact that God, is love. Unrelenting, everlasting, eternal. Nice job, though. Keep up the good work!
It's hard to find anything wrong with such a flawless piece of art. So my review will just be more of a congratulations for such a well written and well thought out poem.
Your examples were funny but good; I especially laughed when I first saw love is a pineapple:)
I believe you hit the nail on the head.
Keep it up!
This first part feels just a smidge redundant. I think you should start with "Love." and than say the second sentence.
There's nothing before this sentence to indicate what the "do" is. If you do what? I think you mean if someone believes this is which case you should just add "If you do believe this then..." because that's more clear. Plus you didn't bold "Pain," that seemed to be the theme so I wasn't sure if you wanted that bold also.
So I get the reasoning behind the first paragraph, but I also think that's an opinion. People aren't idiots for believing love hurts. What if it's unrequited, or if the one you love dies, or if they hurt themselves and that hurts you? Love overall is happy but it can still be painful sometimes, like everything else. Then again, a lot of writing is opinion so it's fine because this whole piece is your perception. I do feel though, that you can explain without insulting.
I think this is what you meant? ^^
quite.
Um, interesting take on the pineapple. I do feel it's a little contradictory because you state above that love's NOT pain, but then you state in the pineapple section that love takes pain first to get to the better stuff. So it's great you're separately dissecting these metaphors and statements about love, but consistency is a good thing otherwise you almost discredit yourself.
I don't really think I understand the tricycle explanation. When I see that I would think it means that sometimes it's hard to balance when you're in love. That you have to practice at it and figure out what works for your specific relationship just like you have to figure out how you can achieve balancing on a tricycle. I would think it means that love's a work in progress and that you get better the harder you try. Your explanation is interesting, because, of course, we're all going to have our own interpretations, it just felt jumpy and unclear at exactly what it was you were trying to get at. Am I making any sense? I feel like I'm babbling.
The dishcloth one is clever, it could benefit from being longer though. I think all the explanations, if drawn out more and explained better they could have more of an effect.
I don't understand how destiny relates to an aggressive man.
The whole point of this piece is to explain love to us and here you are asking if you have to explain it all? Well yes you do, that's the point right? I think you should just take this out.
Okay, so this is a good start. It's a good idea and there are just so many descriptions of love that it could go on forever. It needs some editing and lengthening I think though. I like that you refer to the reader as "you." In this case talking to us might be good, but it has to done right. Some of the times you do it, it feels awkward of forced, so just make sure the whole thing feels like a natural conversation because that's sort of where this style and mood is headed. Keep writing! Hope this helped
I changed it a bit

Except for the part of the first stanza and the "Do I really have to explain everything to you?" because it stirs up the belief of the writer that a lot does NOT know anything about love. Hehe. .Thanks for your review
Sure! Of course anything I say is always just a suggestion
Haha, this is just too perfect!!! I can't even review this, because I simply have no suggestions to make it better! Great job, just great!
