You all have made it safely to port! But the prize is still out there. This week is a week of rest, planning, and preparation. You'll need strategy heading into the storm next week, and it is all hands on deck! Week 20 will not be easy, as not only are you facing the storm itself but you'll have tough competition to get to the prize, the prize of Last Ship Sailing. Good luck, and smooth (as can be) sailing!
As a side note, if you do wish to write this week, all the power to you and your crew! Please note it this week, and do not count it for next week's wordcount.
Tsunami's win condition is only next week's wordcounts, but I shall be updating you all on your ship's wordcounts so far sometime this week so you can see the progress you all have done!
This week is not a normal week for LSS. Your goal is to write as many words as possible, and the crew who writes the most wins the title of the Last Ship Sailing!
Smooth Sailings, and may the seas be kind on your journey ^^
To commemorate the final week of LSS, I have compiled your wordcounts to date! These are all estimated numbers, as your counts and my counts may be off by small amounts.
All four of the ships who have reached this point have written a combined 235,000 words! In five months, you all have written an amount rivalling the longest Harry Potter novel. That's super impressive!
Now for the individual ship counts:
Death From the Depths
Spoiler! :
58,157 words
The Fools' Quest
Spoiler! :
54,277 words
The Lifecycle of a Heist
Spoiler! :
68,996 words
The Last Word
Spoiler! :
54,295 words
Good luck writing for Week 20 ^^ I cannot wait to see what the wordcounts are for this week and in total
It has just come to my attention that Father's Day is coincidentally the same day as the final day of the Tsunami, and rather than making Father's day move (because how rude!), I'm going to push the final day back to EOD Monday on your Captain's timezone. That means you have an extra day to write and there won't be a pesky international holiday messing up that last day push
And the final week draws to a close! Every last one of you all wrote wonderfully! I am not going to announce a winner just yet, as I will go through all wordcounts myself, double, triple, quadruple checking the wordcounts!
The wordcounters have given me different numbers each time, so I will accumulate multiple sources of wordcounts and take the median of them to determine the official wordcount.
Please give me a couple of days to do this, as these four ships have written tens of thousands of words this week. Until I announce the winner, congratulations to all of you! No matter the winner, pat yourselves all on the back, for you did amazing.
