To be perfectly honest, I'd never seen a villanelle before. I just liked the looks of the word. However, I wrote one. We'll see if I manage 30-- probably not.
Gollum's Villanelle
Just beyond our grasp, the ideas dance free; Hard to capture, they're a rabid mutt. We hates the tricksy poetry.
We knows that poetry's not so hard, when the lines fly free, But lacking insipriation, we refuse to stray from our rut. Just beyond our grasp, the ideas dance free.
We look at our poems, and failure is all we see, So we edit and we cut And we hates the tricksy poetry
We try to focus and find the key That will let us understand. But Just beyond our grasp, the ideas dance free.
Poetic licenses gives us room to toy and see How far we can push before the tolerance is shut. And we hates the tricksy poetry.
Sometimes our thoughts behave, and let us see Clearly. But, normally, like a blow to the gut, Just beyond our grasp, the ideas dance free. And we hates the tricksy poetry.

Like an ominous mountain, The dishes are stacked; The sinks are overfilled, And there's none on the rack.
The backroom is piled high, And don't smell quite right. Something might've died, Amongst the clothes in the back.
The windows are smeared, With a strange type of grease That's hard to get off, And gives me no peace.
It makes me real mad, When I step on a rock Lying on the floor of my pad, Surrounded by dirt, grim, and gunk.
There's little that I hate More than a dirty house. So I toss a bucket of water, And hope that everything is safe to douse.

Yeah, haha, I tried to write a villanelle for that one, but I couldn't make it fit. Maybe I'll get more inspiration tomorrow.

Peer pressure is A nasty thing. It's trapped me in choir, And forced me to sing.
I've been in plays, And on teams for sports, trees, and dance. Got dressed up in tutus, And then had to prance.
I've gone to camps I never would pick. Have fallen the wiles, Of my friends and their tricks.
But by far the Biggest woe My friends ever caused, Was convincing me to write in this year's NaPo.

I cry in the morning, I cry all the night. I cry because No one's there to hold me tight.
I lay down in the morning, I lay down in the night. I lay more than I should 'Cause my stomach don't feel right.
I lie in the morning, I lie in the night. I lied in this poem, Hope I don't cause no fight.

So unpredictable. It's hard to guess, whether You'll soar, or be dumped on your face. You never know, 'Til you spread your wings
And take the chance.
Watch the politics, Learn the dance. Make a name, Then find yourself
A back to stab.
Write a speech, or just blab, Inspire an army, And march against the Queen; Betray her sister,
And steal the throne.
Not born of The Family, a new ruler has come. A man sitting all alone. A wife is needed, a wife is found. Worse than the king, she rules
With an iron fist.
She sees the strings, and pulls them all. Nursing grudges, she makes a list; Revenge to be gotten, Paid through the blood of one so young.
A lie is planted, a plan infalliable.
Within the mind of a girl That has a temper so volatile; A young love crushed, As a silent heart breaks.
Sadness rules,
And tyranny. The only hope, a family of fools, Too proud to unite. And then,
When all hope is lost,
The Hearts will mend, And the Whites will weigh the costs; Two sisters once more, Reunited...for once. For now.

Standing before a sink Filled with bubbles, water, and dishes, I lift a glass And sigh.
A voice behind me, I start; I'm home alone.
I grab a knife And turn around. Slowly I lower my blade; There's no one there.
"Down here." The voice again. "Look on the ground."
I look down, and what Do I see, but a dozen little men Each dressed well, with a cane and a watch, And a tiny top hat.
"A chore for you, A pleasure for us. Just sit back and watch."
I step back and marvel As the little men spring Into action.
They shined the dishes, And swept the floor. Arranged the cabinets, And washed the doors.
"We'll clean to a merry tune, I can whistle and you can sing. When our work is through, The credit is yours." ~~ Standing before a sink Filled with bubbles, water, and dishes. I lift another glass, And sing a merry tune.
