The odds have answered your pleas! If you have already registered for an arena, then you can still submit your book reviews until May 31. Repeat, to those who have already confirmed registration, you can still submit up until May 31, which is Friday. That is all.

Image
It's been 75 years now since the Dark Days, or, the war lost by the YWSers. Now, under the harsh rule of the Capitol, YWSers from different sectors are being called to join a morbid and brutal reading competition. Yes, you are being called to read a book and write a good book review about it as part of the first annual
Reader Games!

Enlistment

The task is simple: write a book review about any published book you have read for at least the last six months. If you have the guts to read, or wanna boast that you can read and understand the mystery of books, then volunteer to join. First, choose an arena to fight in:
Spoiler! :
Jupiter Arena
--> A battlefield in outer space where you can pit book reviews under the Science-Fiction, Fantasy and Adventure genres. President Peng and GeeLyria Trinket will be judging in this arena.

Snowrose Arena
--> A nearly frozen forest where one can enjoin book reviews under the romance, drama, coming-of-age and religious fiction genres. The President and Elinor Everdeen will be judging in this arena.

Nightshade Arena
--> Darkness, assassins and surprise hide in each corner, welcoming book reviews under the horror, thriller, mystery, crime and suspense genres. The President and Rydia Abernathy will be judging in this arena.

Utopia Arena
--> A beautiful but dangerous city perfect for book reviews under the non-fiction genre, like essay anthologies, memoirs and biographies and histories, and poetry anthologies. The president and Alfred Heavensbee will be judging in this arena.

After choosing one to join in, choose a book that you will read or have read for the past six months that corresponds with the arena, and write a book review about it. The book review requires no format, and as long as it contains a short summary of what you've read, and an analysis about the aspects of the book, like the plot, themes and motifs, it will be considered for judging. The review must also follow the YWS Rules and Regulations, be properly opinionated and open-minded.

Post your book reviews at the Media Reviews and post the link in this topic together with the book's title, author and the arena you've chosen. The deadline of submission is May 27, and judging will take place after that. You can submit up to two reviews. If your review has enough wit and creativity, it might have a chance to survive.

Survival

The first wave of judging will be per arena. A few days after May 27, we will announce the lucky survivors. Only one out of each arena of course. Out of those survivors, a special panel of judges composing of the President, Alfred Heavensbee, Rosey Trinket and Gee Mason will choose the best book review to crown winner. Its author will be the victor of the first Reader Games.

Spoils

Spoiler! :
Survivors
-- One review for a literary piece of their choice
-- A certificate and a badge of merit
-- Bragging rights and a place in the Honorable Readers

Victor
-- Five reviews for any literary piece of their choice
-- A certificate and a badge of merit
-- Bragging rights and the topmost place in the Honorable Readers

So, if you have the wits to uncover the secrets of a book (or at least, understand it), or if you're just a true book lover, join the competition with a book review, survive it and forever be celebrated as an official YWS Honorable Reader.

Let the games begin!
~May the odds be ever in your favor~

If you're review has enough wit and creativity,

Just asking, is the "you're" meant to be a your? It just seems to make more sense.

See: If you are (I made the contraction into its two words) review has enough....
And: If *your* review has enough.....

I'm just asking just 'coz I'm wondering if I'm right and stuff.

So correct me if I'm wrong.

And, by the way, THIS IDEA SOUNDS AMAZING!!! (Sign me up in the Jupiter Arena!)

Omni and Gabbi, you're now enlisted in the Jupiter Arena! All of you, I can't wait to see your reviews by May 27. Good luck!

Oh, and Gabbi, sorry, it's just a typo. I'm using an iPad, see, so everything is "auto-corrected", even though it's already correct!

And yes, people, this is going to be FUN. And inky.
