The thread is rated because things might get a bit... nasty. But do try to keep posts in the 16+ range according to the Rating Guidelines.

Basically, write a poem from your character's PoV. It'll be the perfect way to get them to rant about all the torture you're putting them through. Or how good you're letting them have it. :P
A writer is a world trapped in a person— Victor Hugo

Ink is blood. Paper is bandages. The wounded press books to their heart to know they're not alone.

How about a haiku? It's all I got time for.

My name is Joa
In Haven's Darkness, I've lived
But Light hath found me.
Trying to get to heaven without Jesus is like climbing to the summit of Mount Everest naked. You die before it happens.

Strange happenings
stranger than strange
the sun is out but
the city is cloaked in grey.

Misty visions of something
grappling at the seams of
barbed wire fences --
in the square a mother
whispers to her child.

The girl on the rooftops
turns her gaze skywards,
asking how many clouds there are,
how many?

-- Aruna, from Project Mutant Families

I suppose you are all cowardly
to purposely ignore what's right in front of your nose.

And I suppose I'm your villainess,
forever doomed to shoulder your own incompetence.

And I suppose he's your saving grace
because he justifies the crimes you have committed.

And I suppose I'm the devil's work
because I'm your target, and I refuse to stay still.

You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace.
— Rod Serling
