Raz isn't asserting (internally, to herself) that that is what happened, just that that's how they're acting. There are several immortal beings whom Raziel knows to be 'created for a higher purpose' who would get the exact same internal reprimand from her. She's just saying that they're arrogant and treating immortality like a novelty or a power rather than a tool for accomplishing a job, which is something Raziel sees as annoying.
Point being: Raz doesn't think they necessarily were mortals blessed with immortality, just that they behave that way. Sort of like asking someone in they were raised in a barn. You don't actually think they were necessarily raised in a barn, you're just disgusted at their behavior and are using that expression to express that.
I'm not posting for the same reasons, but if there are any readers among the characters, this is the perfect time to mention NYPL, NYPL in Manhattan which has around 2.5 million items on file.
The politics of the world may be corrupt, but that does not mean that we must be corrupted ourselves.
Also, ooh to the library idea! I didn't have a specific place in mind for this next part, so I can have Rose suggest that they track it down. Since I'm home for the day today, I should have a post up soon-ish!
In the meantime, though, here's some memes I made for this roleplay this morning before we left our campsite:
Also, I finally posted! It took a little longer than I would have liked thanks to catching a cold on Monday afternoon and being without wifi yesterday, but I'm back home again.
Thanks for the poke, Harry! This roleplay definitely lost its initial momentum, but I'm sure we can get it going again. I was the last one to post, so anyone is free to go~
