Very strong start Plume! I agree with mint that I'm loving the double meaning of "borrowing" words in this context. Looking forward to your poetry this month!
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Spoiler! :
in love with these poems. I'm learning French in school right now, so my favorite part is being able to at least decipher some of the words before reading the translation. Your poems are so beautiful (in both languages.)

Plume this is such a great idea and a wonderful execution!! As a English-French speaker this makes me so happy to read in both languages, and I love love love the cleverness especially in that first poem with the loan words of weekends and sandwiches. Keep it up and I can't wait to read more!!

Spoiler! :
Oh Plume, quels beaux poèmes! Je suis toujours heureuse de trouver un peu de français. <3
J'aime bien que tu joues avec la traduction et le langage. Dans ce dernier, j'apprécie les (uhh comment dit-on "shifts"??) à cause de la forme stricte. En particulier, "J'étais contente. Tu étais contente, n'est-ce pas?" Pour moi, le "n'est-ce pas" donne quelque chose que la traduction de "right?" ne fait pas, un certain ton émotionnel.
Bravo!
Parlez-vous français?

Spoiler! :
Thank you so much @SilverNight!! And @Que tu es complement correcte; quelque chose que je ne prévoyais pas est la difficulté des traductions à cause des nuances de la langue poétique. J'ai beaucoup de respect pour les individus qui traduisent des poèmes professionellement!

• context •

one of my least favorite things when trying to say something in french is when i know a word but i'm not sure it means the same thing in one sentence as it does in another and if that sameness keeps across languages so i have to go to the dictionary and look up how to say the word in the context i want and then sometimes the context isn't even right or specific and i just want to travel to québec or france or sénégal and look someone deeply in the eyes and say how do you say home but in the way where it's not four walls and a floor but the people and smells who live there. how do you say home but in the way where it's about the safety, the belonging, the feeling that everything bends around you like a mold. how do you say home but in the way where it's a person who you know so well they might as well be brick and mortar and you the mason. how do you say that because 'chez moi' just doesn't feel right. 'ma maison' just doesn't cut it.
I was born to speak all mirth and no matter.
