Hi MeherazulAzim! I'm so glad you decided to squeeze in some NaPo at the end of the month - I can never get enough NaPo poetry, the more the merrier haha c:

oh my gosh can I just say I didn't know I needed a hiccup poem in my life but apparently I did xD "Because the hiccups are painful,” a cherubic voice tells me / And so, I become aware again." <- these two lines are way too relatable eep ;-; I swear hiccups are like some sort of mundane curse !!

poem 25 -> the imagery in this one makes me feel really damp and chilled to the bone - "soaked in cold tears" especially is such a strong opening line. (I love the assonance too with the matching vowel sounds in "soaked" and "cold", they give it a lovely ring!)

Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see what other poems you come up with before the end of the month! :)

i remember it took me about 20-30 minutes to work out poem 24, that's also how long the hiccups lasted. as the poem ended the hiccup kind of... went away. But hey, as long as you can get some poetry out of your misery xd

What are dreams? I want to know.
These people I see, lovers I meet and monsters I fight
Are they just fragments of myself?
Am I one person or am I an ocean of personalities?
The dreamscapes never answer these questions.
Maybe I forget to ask when I’m there.
In fact, I forget myself, I materialize
New memories out of thin air and I immerse
In the lore that I also create without realizing.
It seems then that dreamscapes are forges
Where your broken pieces can be mended
And put together and rearranged all over again.

I hope I’m wrong because that’d make us gods
Lonely gods, confined in infinities consisting of only themselves,
But maybe there’s a bright side to that.

It seems that we gods found a way
Of interacting with each other.
We created an entirely new universe called reality
An inter-connected dreamscape.
We realized it wouldn’t self-sustain
That it’d feed on our life force.
We didn’t care
We were so sure that this is what we wanted,
The touch of another god
To finally be able to hear and see and feel something other than ourselves,
That we gave up immortality.
We traded one universe, flawless, magical and controllable,
For another that’s dying and dragging us down with itself.
We decided it was worth it.
Did we make a mistake?

This is an unfalsifiable theory.
But if it was falsifiable, I wonder
Which would be the greater tragedy,
To find that we’re gods in a hospice
Or to realize, once and for all, that we’re merely
Human beings.

Hey Meherazul! I'm so glad you decided to jump into NaPo -- these are lovely poems and I enjoyed reading each one. I particularly liked your most recent one. It's short but has such deep implications, and is really thought-provoking.
