Through All The Shouting
.....silence
a cacophony of noise and colour until nothing remains
but the endless nothing of a thousand unforgotten thoughts
screaming with your eyes closed and your mind open
until somebody finally finds you drowning in the ocean
so far down that when you look up all you see is black
darkness sucking up the light until all you have is nil

It's so dark down here,
with the currents overhead.
I'm scared; don't eat me.

I feel like stalking a bit here

From Dawn 'Till Dawn
There's a sunrise on the horizon,
crowned in crystal grey;
the colours of the alphabet
shining on today.

Clouds are breaking, on the horizon,
threads of white and blue;
stretching the shades of the sky
into something new.

There's a storm brewing, on the horizon,
blistered by sparks of light;
droplets dancing in sheets of grey
revealing a new, dim night.

The moon is rising on the horizon,
cast in a creamy glow;
stars across the endless sky
in a bright, twinkling show.

There's darkness on the horizon,
where all the nightmares lay;
'till golden streams break the gloom
with the sunrise and the day.

To Write a Poem
words are sprawling across the screen
in curls and strokes of black
painting pictures of warm and green
smudged by gloom and grey

ideas are flowing across the page
in countless forms of rhyme
pulling the colour from my mind
as slowly I lose track of time

beauty is swirling within my mind
beyond the reach of prose
carved in meter and stanzas' line
to which I writ a poem

Different Perspectives Senryu #4
Many an idea,
dancing words throughout my mind.
No room left to think.

Sleep is for those not afraid of the shadows.
Slowly, warmth seeps from your skin -
fingers blue and eyes red.
Colours, once so vivid,
now as pale as the fading light.
The gentle ache as feeling is no more,
burned into an oxymoron of heat,
held placidly against the withered ice

Wind screams from the shadows,
carving knives across your face.
Those delicate fingers stroking
ever so lightly with those razor nails.
It whispers in unknowable tongues
and beckons; calls for you invitingly,
deceiving in its glass facade.

Pools of light sink into the horizon,
following the sighs of the sun
as gentle glow turns to piercing night.
The blinking eyes of nightmares above
watch you, ever so closely.
They wait, preparing to pounce
in the wake of your unsleeping eyes.

Echoes of the morning shadows laugh,
daring you to outlast the winter's plight.

Simple Regrets
like that smudged newspaper
clipping in a shoebox
of forgotten memories
filled with once meaningful words
now dusty with age and dirt

i should have left you out in the rain
with last weeks issue of the sunday paper

Control
you'd give all things priceless
for a taste of control

turn your gold into lead
in hopes of a taste
to change your destiny
to change your fate

Mindless Ramblings In Form of Poem
There are no words
for my acceptance,
no rhymes
in my remembrance,
no heart in my contempt
for what I've done.

I've travelled through my woes
and subdued all my foes
but I can't help but fear
what I've done.

And I shall lie in the shallows,
feeling oh so hollow,
in the memory of my moment
while the dust will waste away.
And let it come to tomorrow
and I shall face all my wrongs
and all my dues.

Sunsets

sunsets are a fickle thing
a soup of different days
coloured anew with every moon
from mauve to a smoky haze

shadows casting through the sky
to stretch the earth below
forming shapes of once again
but something not quite known

lights are fading in a glow
of orange pink and blue
until the darkness comes again
then dawn undoes the moon

a shapeless sun across the sky
beaming in the day
then the dusky lights renew
in a show of unseen haze

by a different time
and a different face
a shape to re-explore
in a different palate for the day
as the sun sinks to the floor

When in doubt Senryu
When in doubt Senryu
for a loss of better words.
Squeeze in three more lines.

When Productivity Calls
colliding interests
pushing and pulling
demanding my mind
calling my thoughts
engulfing my view

until nothing wins out
and I'm left wanting nothing

Tick, tick time away
'till the sun engulfs the sky.
Where has my life gone?

A Desperate Senryu
I'm out of ideas
like a blackboard out of chalk.
Even this is forced.
