THE BUDDY SYSTEM IS BACK
After a hiatus of leadership, the Buddy System is back and eager to nurture new members as before, but we need your help. Yes, you - the user who's been on YWS for a while, knows the site well, and wants to make a difference here! Being a mentor is an important job and not one to take lightly, but when you join us you become part of an elite team that's dedicated to helping new members, you make new friends aaaand you earn cool badges.
BUT WHAT IS A MENTOR?
A mentor is someone who shows the new people around the site and helps them feel welcomed and wanted. The bigger YWS gets, the more important it is to have such a role as there are lots of friendship groups already in place and sometimes it's hard for a new member to break into an already established group. That's where you come in. As a mentor, you'll be their guide and friend as they learn their way around both the technical side of the site and the community within. If you'd like to become a mentor, reply below!

Badges! They're a work in progress, and the amazing @Rydia is currently working on making them a reality, but they will be here. And you mentors will have them for your participation in helping new members feel at home here. There will also be fun challenges in the future for all of us, and so so much more to keep being a mentor fresh and exciting!

Looking for a way to meet more people or a guide around the site? Perhaps you feel your works aren't getting the attention they deserve or have questions about our community. A mentor can help with this! There are many wonderful experienced members who would love to take your hand and show you how the website and community works, and help you fit in here. Just go here and you'll find many mentors more than happy to help you.
