April is National Poetry Month. As part of that, you can do NaPoWriMo, which involves writing a poem every day (it can be a haiku).

But, I was forwarded the idea of also doing a poetry tournament by a friend of mine, and it sounds intriguing. Here's the description:

Not quite sure how it'd work online, and God knows I don't want to do any programming for it. But, anyone want to make a go at doing this? We'd probably need a greenie to run the actual thing, but I think we can all bash our heads together to figure out how to make it work... if it's something people want to do, that is.

Okay so from what I understand, we'd want to span 30 days to complement the NaPo challenge and we'd be judging each poet's poem against another? So the poet would choose a poem of theirs, written in the last three days, to submit against the other poet's...

Can we reserve a place or we have to send up our poem to get a place?

12! But it can be adapted. I guess this is a call for who's interested? Post on this thread if you are!

Wow! Thanks Rydia for managing this and thanks Karzkin for judging.

Is it possible that a few people could spread word about this to new members as well? Also, a mass PM will be going out about NaPoWriMo. Do people think that April Madness should be included in that PM?

Count me in!:) Does the subject matter of the poetry matter, or is it no holds barred?
