Reincarnating this idea!
Combining the spirits of the Time Wasters' forum and the Poetry forum, here's a new thread for all of us poets here on YWS! The idea is very simple: post in this thread, mandating a poetry challenge to the user posting before you. That challenge can be about anything (appropriate), and will test our mettle as writers.

Just some guidelines to keep things smooth:

1. Nothing posted in this thread may contain content above an E-rating. The content of works posted in the literary forums, while rated appropriately, is exempt.

2. Challenges may be met either by a reply in this thread, or by an actual posted work.

3. If you dish it out, be ready to take it. ;)

And of course, since the challenge is issued for the person ahead of you, I will be the recipient of the first challenge!

Write a poem about two star-crossed lovers without using the words "star-crossed" or "lovers" or any word synonymous with "feud."
I like you as an enemy, but I love you as a friend.

@Audy

Write a poem describing an object, using odd proportions, dimensions, textures, and materials! The reader should be able to recognize the object from the description, so no mentioning it! (sorry!!)

Why hello there >3
Here's your Altoid poem
Spoiler
Altoids and Coke

A breath of fresh air seeps through my lips
like liquid ice escaping dry and wetting my parched tongue.

There is more to you than love to devour
and crunch away until we could be one alone.
Your affair with pop chokes even the hardest cap
and boils out as a shout exploding forth
with the force of a furious geyser.

Your affair is my Old Faithful.

I challenge you to a Pantoum with no less than eight stanzas.

[If you need some help with the pantoum structure here is a quick cheat:

Black and white tile cover the walls,
Plants grow ever taller in the midday light,
A bird on a branch stands straight and calls,
It’s already anxious, anticipating the night,

The ceiling is the sky and earth covers the ground,
Black and white tile cover the walls,
Strange it is to witness a war taking place without a sound,
A bird on a branch stands straight and calls,

The walls all but crumble and fall,
The ceiling is the sky and earth covers the ground,
Concrete does not listen to her every beck and call,
Strange it is to witness a war taking place without a sound,

Though the tiles crack no one observes to cry,
The walls all but crumble and fall,
No matter how hard Mother Nature does try,
Concrete does not listen to her every beck and call,

Isn’t that just like an organic organism,
Though the tiles crack no one observes to cry,
Stuck in an imaginary mental lightless prism,
No matter how hard Mother Nature does try,

It might just be that all that’s stopping it is its fear,
Isn’t that just like an organic organism,
Fearing what will come, if it’ll reach the next tier,
Stuck in an imaginary mental lightless prism,

Isn’t that just like an organic organism,
Unable to push through and do what needs to be done,
Stuck in an imaginary mental lightless prism,
Cursed and unable to have any fun,

Unable to push through and do what needs to be done,
A bird on a branch stands straight and calls,
Cursed and unable to have any fun,
Black and white tile cover the walls.

"I Love You" scrolled in ink
dissolving water.

Here you go Astutedude. I hope you get a good challenge from the next poster.

Ivory white as the snow, crystal clear
was the velvet-black night of her eyes
Crimson Red as my blood were her fears
but her poise was the bluest of skies.

With a gown auburn brown was adorned,
with a necklace metallic, pink pearled.
Metal gold was the bold of scorn.
Misty rose the allure of her worlds.

Ultraviolet her fingertips gleamed
and magenta the soft of her palms
and cerulean the rays that she beamed
while fluorescent the flare of her charms.

And I stood in her glory agleam
With a look of astonished surprise

@Radrook how you use this is you post a challenge for the person ABOVE you, so that challenge is mine. You have to make a challenge for Alliyah and then the person who posts AFTER you gives YOU a challenge.

So I wasn't supposed to have responded by taking up the challenge? So what is the point in challenging then?
